I keep it mostly in the original iPad box so the back of it is not exposed that much and sure as heck am not taking my iPad outside the house until I got a protective case. As for the logo, protecting it is not really a concern.

Really the only sure way to keep it from getting scratched is to leave it in the box at all times. In fact, if you were to take the plastic off the box, or even if there were just a small hole in the plastic, there would be good chance that a single particle of dust would get into the box, work it's way to the Apple logo (since the logo faces down if the box is upright, gravity will do this [perhaps you should place the box face down]) and scratch the logo.

Really the only sure way to keep *your* iPad from getting scratched is to not buy one in the first place :)

I use a four foot giant lint free cloth and wrap my iPad four or five times to protect it. I then don my extra large Snuggly blanket I bought on TV to protect my baby from my zipper and buttons. Latex gloves keep prints and grease off the screen, and I have a special room in my house outfitted with an advanced dust filtration system to keep dust specs from appearing under the glass...

So far, mine is still pristine.

Seems like the bare minimum folks should do to protect their investment. :p

I keep the iPad sitting In the box while I hold it to play games, watch movies etc. Perfect for me so it doesn't get weighty and make my hands a bit tired.

Naked only...otherwise it loses so much. I had an old pair of jeans and cut them up to make a sleeve for the iPad...used a rear pocket on one side...wifey sewed it up, works fine in my backpack.

If I did that I'd have nothing to wear.

I put a big piece of packing tape on the back to keep off the scratches....

(it's also know as the invisible shield or something like that)

I have never protected any of my apple devices ever. The scratch here and there on the back case is just a fact of life for me and I have always been able to get a good resale value with full disclosure on eBay. With that said I do like the apple ipad case for the perfect angle the stand provides. But I like my iPad naked most of the time.

I don't make any efforts to protect it other than using care when laying it down on a flat surface. It's a good thing that the logo is indented a tiny bit, so it doesn't lie flush on the surface.

Take a closer look at that Apple logo OP, it is soft rubber... It is pretty hard to scratch. I carry mine without any case/sleeve/film between home, the office, and a few after work/weekend spots around town. My coffee table has rough slate tiles for a surface and it left what I thought were scratches on the Apple logo, but then i rubbed it, saw it was soft rubber, and the scratches were gone.

Besides, this thing is begging to show some wear and tear, I already have a sticker on the back for a little added character... I welcome the first scratch.

Is this the InvisableSHIELD from Zagg? I have Zagg's screen protector on my touch and it's great. I wish I had bought it for the rear because I have several scratches on it. $39.99 for full coverage seems pretty good, esp if it helps keep the "look and feel".

I was worried about it being so slippery when I have it out of its little netbook sleeve so I bought some grippy stuff. The site sells it in strips for laptops so I did this:

The stuff is from a company called egrips. The strips come off and use that same gummy adhesive that you get on credit cards when they're mailed to you. Comes right off when you want it to. The top is silicone and is super grippy. :D

When you walk around with it you can put your fingers on the litter circular grips and when you're using it you can hold one or more of the edge grips. When it's flat on a table you don't have to worry about it sliding around anywhere AND the back won't get scratched up.

It looks a *little* ghetto, I know, but you forget about it pretty damn quick. I was terrified the other day walking around in a parking lot without these things.

edit: now that I'm studying it I may remove 3 of the circles and move one of them to the center of the apple logo. Depends on how it sits on a table top...

For me, that looks *very* ghetto. One of the reasons I love Apple products so much is the hardware design. If I have to make it look like crap to use it, it's just not worth it for me. I would rather see a small scratch or two than 8 huge chunks of dirty grey grip tape...

I love being Naked.

I have the Apple case for my iPad and i find it is pretty functional and i use it when I'm at work or on the go. It is very easy to hook up to a headrest for trips too!

But, i find that I tend to use my iPad naked as much as i can. The aluminum back and sharp bezels are so sexy to touch. I find myself just staring at it at times too!

That is why I couldn't bring myself to get a case with a cover. I do love the Belkin Grip Vue though, still can see it perfect and feels better to hold IMO.

I'm the same. I much prefer to use it without any case. I'm the same with phones and iPods though. I just don't do cases.

I did however by a case/sleeve to carry it around in when in my bag but it's naked for all the time I'm actually using it.

Ill pretty much only use the case to transport in my bag and to use as a stand. I used my iPhone caseless, but that got scratched/cracked to oblivion. I doubt my iPad will get too scratched since i'm not really going to be putting it in my pocket (XD). Also, Zagg InvisibleShield for the back. The bottom of my MPB is scratched just from putting it on tables.
