Nope, you understood correctly, but the Tab S7 hasn't got an OLED screen, it is a LTPS TFT screen.
The Tab S7+ is the OLED screened tablet.

So LTPS TFT is a worse display tech than OLED and LCD?

I’ve never been able to get add blockers to work on my iPhone or iPad.

They can only block on Safari browser. Choose AdGuard, 1Blocker, or Blokada..all good AFAIK. AdGuard and Blokada has a paid service (VPN I believe) that blocks ads on all iOS. Similarly you can block all ads using a ProtonVPN-with the NetShield option-which gives you the security of VPN+adblocking for any device up to 2 devices at anyone time all for $60/year.

1Blocker doesn't properly block YouTube ads besides other things so not as good as uBlock Origin.
Yeah, uBlock Origin is probably better & more customisable.

That said, 1Blocker works with Safari and uBlock Origin doesn’t.

Also for my use case (iPhone, iPad, macOS)
- YOUTUBE WEBSITE ADS: I don’t really surf YouTube on the website (I use the YouTube app on all my devices except my Mac), so I don’t see any YouTube website ads.
- YOUTUBE VIDEO ADS: YouTube video ads that run during video playback, doesn’t really bother me. I think that’s the price of free video. I think uBlock Origin on Windows/Android can block these YouTube video ads, right?
- SAFARI: 1Blocker is good enough for my Safari needs — eg. I actually didn’t realise some websites (eg. macrumors) was ad-supported until one day I had to use another computer to access it ?

That is because Apple does not allow uBlock Origin to get API access on Safari to be as powerful as it is on other browsers. its more than an adblocker, it can do some neat stuff if you know how to use it.

Btw, Chrome+Edge will limit adblockers capability soon with a new implementation of something called Manifestv3. Won't affect Firefox or Brave AFAIK.

So I got the Air 4 and I am not happy with the ginormous size, the screen which seems to have bad viewing angles, no home button, the unresponsive gestures to reach home..etc . I am only left with the bare bones basic iPad with the non-laminated screen when I thought of the unthinkable and thats to move to Android. I have few questions please help me I haven't dealt with Android before.

1) With iPad the OS updates from Apple, where do I get updates for the OS. I heard Samsung keeps running older OS when newer versions are availabe. Can I like update from a 3rd party place?

2)I don't want Google to track me, is there like a bare bones Android I can load that does not have Google spyware and Samsung? What about the App Store?

3) I heard Android tablet apps are horrid as they are just blown up phone apps unlike iPad apps. How true is this?

4) Aspect ratio: I don't want the weird aspect ratios, Samsung tablets seem thinner and taller. Something closer to iPad 9.7 is best. Which should I get?

5) Heat and battery: Is it as cool as an iPad for operations and does the battery last 10 hours like ipad?

6) How you get to home/app switcher? On iPad there was home button and they replaced it with gestures.

7) How do I backup Android? with iOS I backup using iTunes

8) Are there cases like the Smart folio that can turn into a stand to set it on horizontal view?

9) How are the screens? supposedly AMOLED better than iPad's LED? I am very susceptible to viewing angles. I actually prefer iphone7 over iphone 12 and Air 2 over Air 4.

Any extra advice or warnings I am very welcoming of.

I'm using a Samsung tablet right now. It's Fine, the screen is Gorgeous and I prefer open software of Android to locked and boxed down Apple software.

Were you a previous iPad user? What do you miss?

I am using a Samsung tablet as well now, a super cheap Galaxy A8 LTE. I love it. I am over apple right now. They are buggier and quality has gone downhill drastically in the past few years. I owned various iPads in the past and my 199 dollar samsung goes toe for toe with my sons ipad mini. Plus, I can customize it the way I want as well. Something you had not chance in hell in doing with the "my way or the highway attitude of apple".

If you're not replacing the launcher and will stick with OneUI then be sure to install the Good Lock app (and its components - I think you'll need to get it from the Galaxy Store rather than Google Play). You'll definitely have fun with that!! ?

I have a Galaxy Tab A 10.1 and a Tab S6 and I agree (though I still make heavy-but-diminishing use of my iPad Mini 5). I bought the S6 last December new for $329 (the same price as the entry level iPad 8). DeX on the S6 has been a game-changer for me and would make it very difficult for me to go back to an iPad Pro.

People should assess their needs first and then decide which device that is currently available best meets their needs. But hey, if people want to chase a brand, go for it... it's not coming out of my pocket.

I was using Microsoft Launcher for a long time, but recently switched to Nova. It's great. Make a neat device REALLY GOOD. Speeds it up with settings, and so easy to change icons, widgets and the overall feel of the tablet. Something apple users only dream about. My iPhone is so boring now.

I can't use Nova on any device anymore because of how Android has cripples 3rd party launchers integration with gestures. I can't stand the redraw that happens every time you return to the home screen. And I refuse to go back to using the 3 button layout which takes a bottom 1/4 inch of the screen on the S7 Plus. So, default launcher it is for me.

I love the 3 button. I miss the home button. As I use my android tablet as a navigation and media device in the jeep I hate gesture navigation. It sucks. Buttons are great.

Agree to disagree on this. I would actually use 3 button on the tab if they weren't centrally located. I wish you could move them to one corner and have the 3 buttons closer together. On a device as big as the S7 Plus they are just too spaced out.

Oh yes, to each their own. I like the option of the buttons. You don't. There is room for both on android. Not so with iOS. Which is why android is so much better. Choice.
