I agree… the 13 pro max was decent, but not as good as the 14 pro & like you said, the 15 pro is better still.View attachment 2295959That’s a significant improvement over the iPhone 13 Pro (image above). Granted, this wasn’t a particularly dark place but those larger and improved sensors in the 15 Pro Max make a huge difference.
Thanks. I think it’s so cool to finally capture imagery like this with a phone.Great shots!
Wow. The pictures are gorgeous! They are so amazing. 🤩So I drove 50 minutes out of town to a dark location to see what the new iPhone can do under a dark sky. Finally got my chance. Native camera in night mode, 30” exposure at ISO 4000. I’m impressed!

Yes it is!!! And it’s all on the eastern half of the United States. The western half hardly has any in comparisonFantastic. Light pollution is the worst
Thanks! I was very pleased with the results.Just amazing!!! Nicely done!!!
Awesome. Did you lean the phone against something?Did this without a tripod. Never edited something like this before.
How is it? Any tips?

Cool!!! I hope you do. Just remember To set the exposure to 30”, otherwise the image won’t look so good. Not sure if you use ProRAW, it’s better than compressed HEIF. Both are useable though. Good luckThanks for posting these photos. I can never be bothered to set up my telescope these days so I'm going to give this a try. I have a tripod and I recently bought a fitting for the phone as I want to try my hand at photographing the aurora borealis but having seen your photos I'm going to be outside taking some photos on the next clear night. I live in a rural area so can hopefully get some decent results.
Excellent… it is definitely addictiveView attachment 2296205View attachment 2296203View attachment 2296202Never shot long exposure with iphone before. Gave it a casual try 10min ago. Photos have not been edited.
Mind blown. I have a new hobby!![]()
Looks good to me… was this 10” handheld? Or the iPad stand for 30”? How are you editing these? Lightroom or something else?Did this without a tripod. Never edited something like this before.

No not anymore. The three frames that the iPhone takes are aligned differently now to avoid trails. Something new in iOS 17 apparently.
Yes the 1x camera will switch over. The only way you can use the 5x for astronomy is with the Even Longer app. Due to the magnification of 120mm equivalent, the phone will have to be tracked on a star tracker to avoid trailing of the stars. That’s a decent attempt thoughI tried to use the 120mm lens but it used the main lens instead, this is all I could see over Los Angeles. 🤷🏻♂️View attachment 2296349

Amazing picture. I got my iPhone 15 Pro Max last week. But I doubt if I will ever get an opportunity to see Galactic Center and shoot it.So I drove 50 minutes out of town to a dark location to see what the new iPhone can do under a dark sky. I am glad that it works with a 15 Pro not just the max.Excellent… it is definitely addictive
Yeah the main camera (1x) is the same. Cool! Hopefully we will all get more astrophotos soon. The outer Milky Way with the constellation Orion will be visible soon! It’s already up in the very early hoursI am glad that it works with a 15 Pro not just the max.
