So if this one expires on Feb. 23rd, then what are we to do between Feb. 24th and April 1st? Am I missing something here? Not sure about anyone else but it'd be cool to have this app work during Spring Training.

This being said, I'm loving where this app is going and MLB is doing a brilliant job with this. Plus, this gives me more ammunition when discussing marketing in sports in some of my classes in school. Being a sport management major is fun. :)

Looking forward to this new version!

One thing I'm wondering is if audio will be built into the application or if they will just provide an area to enter your account information for the mlb.com gameday audio. I'm hoping you don't need an mlb.com subscription.

I can't imagine the MLB giving away Gameday with the app unless they include the price into the app. If Gameday Audio is $14.95 and the app was $4.99 last year, a $20 price for the season isn't that bad. I would buy it for that price.

Lite version is available as a free update. Scores for spring training and the world baseball classic

Looks good

At least they are allowing us to keep lite for the 2009 season. It says on the app page that the lite version will have scoreboards and stuff of the regular season and the playoffs. We just don't get the pitch by pitch and audio stuff but still sounds like a app that is worth douwloading even if there are TONS of other scoreboard apps out there

I was very pleased with last years version. The gameday audio will be awesome. My only complaint is that the video quality on edge/3g was terrible and the wifi version was amazing. There should be a preference where the user selects which version to stream. I would be more than happy to wait a little longer while I am on 3g for the wifi quality stream to load.

does anyone know if the app comes with a gameday audio subscription or you need to buy one to have it work?

I have a small question regarding this app. Is the icon going to be the regular colors of the mlb logo? I imagine so but was just curious since the lite version is in b&w. Thanks.

Yes, it will return to being red, white & blue.

I've been waiting for this to come out! I was expecting $4.99 like last year, but balked (er...) at the $9.99 price. Still, audio and being able to pick which feed is awesome. I'm hoping the lag isn't too significant, but as long as I'm not competing with another source (muted TV, game blogging, etc.) that's no problem.

I'm considering getting it because I'll gladly listen to gameday audio when I'm not near a radio or a TV. 10 bucks isn't bad for that access.

Yeah. I don't mean to be too negative. I think what they're offering for an extra $5 is definitely worth it. I'm debating buying it now or waiting until I don't get to hear the first game of the season and then buying it. Which I note is rather silly because I'll be buying it anyhow.

well, I bought it, but no way to test the audio feeds yet. Only one game today had gameday and there was no associated audio.

If the free version is the same, but minus the audio that's a great deal. If you want the audio, it's well worth it to upgrade.

Does anyone know if blackout restrictions apply to the radio feature? I'm in Chicago and will want to listen to Cubs broadcasts, but I dont think WGN's online feed will carry the game...

Gameday Audio has no blackout restrictions, and should include the playoffs. :)
