MMS on 3GS w/ new carrier file = still doesn't send

I have a jailbroken 3.0.1 3GS and updated using the file and instructions posted in this forum. After I updated and restarted, the MMS features were available, but I would get the red exclamation after trying to send pictures. I called AT&T who told me they didn't see anything wrong with my plan and that I would need to call a special iPhone service number (800-MY-IPHONE). While waiting on hold, I tried resending a picture and it worked! I sent another picture to another person and it worked as well.
 
im getting them fine, first pic i sent took a few seconds to send, then i just tried again and it failed, resent and it took 3 minutes 3 friggin minutes to send.
 
I can send with wifi off, but not with wifi on? Whats up with that?
 
hmm, what exactly does the 5.5 contain?

im running 5.1 ipcc with unlockit.co.nz for my mms+tether but also apn changer to use the $10 data vs $30 data.. should i just leave well enough alone?
 
it might also have something to do with who your sending it to. i just sent one to an AT&T number and it went right thru, VZW took a little while and sprint failed then took forever and finally went.
 
No dice here in Iowa either. I have been on the phone with AT&T for the last 30 minutes and have the guy stumped...

This was my experience. If you do have to call, ask them to escalate the call to 2nd tier support as the 1st tier took about 45 minutes and the 2nd tier had it going in about 2 minutes...
 
erm.. have to turn wifi off to get mms to work.. what the hell is this all about it never used to be like this!

ok im 3.0 3gs, jailbroken, 5.5 carrier file, mms will only work when wifi is turned off.. what in the hell?!
 
For what it's worth: mine wasn't working either.

For some reason ATT had on their end that I was using a 1st gen iphone. I have the 3gs, but there end said I have 1st gen. They were able to update their system then all the sudden my MMS was working again, and on 3.0.1 too.

Update: It's working here in Lancaster, PA. My wife's and son's phones (3G) worked immediately, my 3GS did not. I called AT&T, spoke with a very nice gentleman in tech support who found some problem with my account, straightened it out, had me restart my phone and a couple minutes later I had sent and received a picture with my wife! So I'd have to say if it doesn't work by now, take the time you'd spend posting it here, like anyone can actually do anything, and call AT&T. They guy said they've gotten a couple of calls so far today and know what to do.

My hacked file is what's been working for a month or so. Now that is giving ! It was working this morning. Im calling a traffic issue.
 
3GS Jailbroken was using 5.1 carrier file on 3.0 firmware.

i installed 5.5 att file and MMS was not working...i rebooted the phone still nothing..

here how i fixed it...

went to Settings > General > Reset (at the bottom) > reset Network settings

then reboot (it may do so by itself)

after that my MMS started working, slow but it worked...
