3GS Jailbroken was using 5.1 carrier file on 3.0 firmware.

i installed 5.5 att file and MMS was not working...i rebooted the phone still nothing..

here how i fixed it...

went to Settings > General > Reset (at the bottom) > reset Network settings

then reboot (it may do so by itself)

after that my MMS started working, slow but it worked...

Central Jersey

Did the same thing, still doesn't work

Still no dice in DC

One rep says its my plan (Text messaging TMS4), another says it's not, and a third told me there is a outage in my area so I don't know.

When someone sends me a mms message I get the "log into the viewmymessage" text. 2nd tier support told me I would get that if there was an outage in the area.

Other then the txt msg plan, everything on my account should allow MMS.

hmmm, I'm not receiving anything, and I've only had 1 picture send.....so glad we waited this long for MMS on the iPhone.

So I've been on the phone with ATT tier 2 support and it is indeed an issue with WiFi being enabled here - I can send via 3G no problem but not with WiFi enabled on my 3GS. It's as if WiFi is blocking the ability to send over the cellular network.

I noticed mine started failing to send the messages after the first few i sent. I then turned off the wifi and now they send within 10 seconds.:)

Out of the blue my MMS just started working. I'm now able to both send and receive. However, receiving seems a bit glitchy at the moment, I get two messages....one that is just a text message with the filename, and then the actual picture.

Central California. Can't send over 3G w/ WiFi enabled and disabled. Progress bar gets toward the end then gets stuck.

It seems like AT&T/Apple provided their own hack to make this work :p

At least email still works.

What's funny is my 3G speed is still quick as ever. Go figure.

MMS was working for me for a week and half with the 5.1/5.2 IPCC file.

Upgraded to 5.5, rebooted phone, didn't test until some hours later -- failed twice. Got on website's live chat, talked with a tier 1 rep who kicked my 3GS/3.1 off the network and had it rejoin. Afterwards, MMS started working. Go figure.

So now it works -- cool, but was honestly not expecting it to fail after having been working well for a while. Oh well. :)

Waited the the 24 hours. Woke up today to find a "Picture messaging has been enabled... blah blah" text from AT&T. Thought great, waiting actually fixed it. No such luck. Attempt to send, red exclamation mark. Had someone send, never got it. I started a tech chat on their site and they attempted to fix it. Says everything looks fine. They then opened a trouble ticket.
