A little bit of a rant...

AT&T/Cingular has had MMS for years. I read somewhere (probably here) that they were testing it in Seattle. What's to test? As for the "lawsuit" in Louisiana, I am not sure what they were thinking or trying to get at.

I love the people who claim MMS is an old technology especially since we are dealing with PHONES one of the oldest technologies we currently still use. Granted the WAY we use them has changed but its all because of the Telephone.

What is the hold up, AT&T? This whole situation has become a farce. CANADA of all countries has MMS on iPhone and we don't... AHHH!

Sorry... That feels a little better..

Following up on this, AT&T Mobility’s Executive Director Media Relations responded that "We have not yet offered MMS on the iPhone. We plan to do so toward the end of September."

What planet is late September considered late summer?

"Of all countries".

Ok buddy ... guess we didn't start up Nortel or invent the Blackberry or roll out 7.2 HSDPA before anyone else or anything like that ;)

So if and when we do get MMS , what we be on the new list of things to do for the iphone ..just wondering:rolleyes: i can remember when all you did was make a call on the old tele:D

Umm your probably thinking the school year schedule in which September when kids go back to school is considered fall.

In the financial and business world (and technically our US calendar system) summer ends September 22nd.

Blame the Mayans this is their calendar right?

The iPhone sold in the US has the exact same guts as iPhones sold in other parts of the world.

False. The Chinese version of the iPhone does not include WiFi because the Chinese government is afraid they won't be able to spy on their citizens unless they are on the 3G network.

Although It was posted in this thread at least twice I still love reading that article... AT&T's towers don't support MMS?!?!? What a freakin' joke, I hope that case get's thrown out.

vizkiz... All you have to do is READ the posts. This is the one that I was referring to from above:

Apple, AT&T sued for lack of MMS capability
Business and Law

A class action started in a Louisana district court alleging that Apple and AT&T touted the iPhone as supporting MMS (multimedia messaging service) but have not as yet provided the service.

The plaintiffs allege that Apple "advertised heavily that the new version of iPhone, the 3G, as well as the even newer version the 3G-S would allow MMS. Apple's print and video advertisements in and on television, the internet, the radio, newspapers and direct mailers all touted the availability of MMS." AT&T advertised the same functionality, the filing says.

But since the launch, in the USA, such functionality is not yet available. The court filing says the AT&T Answer Center page said: "Customers who are sent a MMS message and own a non-MMS capable device will receive a text message instead of an actual MMS message."

But, the filing alleges: "AT&T is not a carrier which offers MMS! Of course, AT&T is the only carrier in the United States used by the iPhone. In other words, AT&T's towers do not support MMS."

Apple, says the filings, has revealed that AT&T has never upgraded its towers so as to support MMS functionality. "The only excuse offered by AT&T and Apple is a mouseprint disclaimer on the website, in barely readable font, which reads 'MMS Support from AT&T coming in late summer'".

The class action suit alleges the Louisana suit will consist of at least 10,000 individuals. The action is brought both under the Louisiana Unfair Trade Practices Act and other Louisiana civil codes.

And without you quoting a post, how am I supposed to know which one you were referencing?

I Updated!!!!!!!

Well, I know it came out the other day but, I updated my xbox360 and bought my avatar a light saber, I wish I could MMS you a pic of him, but I have at&t, and according to Louisiana, my towers don't support it.;)

And they're in agreement with the definition of summer, or Apple would have changed the wording to be "mid fall" or "winter", et. al.

That, or they are just stating what AT&T told them to.

Apple: "What do we put on our website for people who want to know about MMS?"
AT&T: "Just put up 'Late Summer,' that'll stop 'em from bitching."

Apple doesn't really listen to what anyone tells them to do.

The last time they did that, they were made to stop selling the iSight in Europe. They responded by not selling it anywhere.

Apple: "What do we put on our website for people who want to know about MMS?"
AT&T: "Just put up 'Late Summer,' that's what we told them to stop 'em from bitching."
