Q. Will AT&T offer MMS and tethering?
A. Later this summer, as part of the 3.0 software, AT&T will make multimedia messaging (MMS) available at no extra cost to customers with a text messaging bundle. And, in the future, AT&T will offer tethering capability for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G

you may also like to read though this thread on the AT&T forum I know some of our people are there to represent! ;)

.

now if only this would be the last MMS thread till it comes out. :rolleyes:

FYI, that FAQ has changed since they first put it out. It did say "late summer" at one time. It now says "later this summer."

The whole thing was a gimmick to lure us in. MMS is probably a year out. I dunno WTF is so hard. It's obvious it works from all of us that did the hack.

They say the biggest problem is that the iPhone pictures are so much better than other AT&T phones that there having a hard time adjusting the resolution/file size to work well with other phones

Yep

The Faq is what AT&T official word is at this moment latter it might be edited to say latter this Winter. ;) have to wait and see. I do know as you know it's here when it gets here no sooner but no latter.

That's not it at all! Not even close. The Fuze has a 5MP camera. The latest Curve has a 3.2.

I do not believe that is the case. Like all of you i wanted mms really bad and thought that AT&T and Apple are working on getting it ready for the Iphone, but truth is, it is already ready for the iphone and they just have not released it yet. I just got a family plan today and all of a sudden my mms started to work (both sending and receiving) on 3.1 b3. Apple has done their part getting the Iphone ready to support mms, it is completely AT&T that we are now waiting on to activate it for all of those running an individual iphone plan. Weird...:D

This almost makes me want to put B3 on my 3GS..

well, playing around with swirlymms, i called tech support for some help...explained to them that i wanted to use my BJ2 for MMS messaging...however, they were unable to add the BJ to my account without removing the Iphone plan.

So after 15mins or trying to figure out a way, she told me there was a way to send MMS messages via email. She gave me a bunch of emails to use and you know what, it does work. Still wanting SwirlyMMS to work...bought it and cant even use it. Basically, you use a XXX-XXX-XXXX@mms.att.net or @txt.att.net...with X's being the person 10 digit cell phone number. Heres a list she gave me with other carriers emails.

I know this isnt real MMS, but at least its something till we actually get it.

Alltel = xxxxxxxxxx@message.alltel.com

AT&T (Formerly Cingular) = xxxxxxxxxx@mms.att.net (Use this if the person was on Cingular, if they are new ATT customer use @txt.att.net)

Boost Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@myboostmobile.com

Sprint = xxxxxxxxxx@messaging.sprintpcs.com

T-Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@tmomail.net

US Cellular = xxxxxxxxxx@mms.uscc.net

Verizon Wireless = xxxxxxxxxx@vzwpix.com

Virgin Mobile = xxxxxxxxxx@vmobl.com

She did mention that MMS for the iPhone will not be available till late September or early November...dunno how true it is or not, so take it with a grain of salt.

how about this instead of bunnies?

haha So true.;)

Then once everyone has it and its working, there will be a select few who still can't use it for some reason or another. :rolleyes:

After that there will be a long period of silence in the iPhone forums. My guess is the next "Big" rant is the GUI. ;)
