Sooooo close

Well I was late on my payment as well. So I paid this morning and thought I'd try to talk to a rep and get the Opt Out taken off my account. The guy was super nice and at first he said "Do you want me to add the opt-out?" and I told him no that I wanted to enable my MMS. He said he didn't know it was out yet, but he saw it on his screen. So he did whatever, told me something was being sent to my phone and to turn it off and back on and it should work. Of course, I was on a my iPhone so I couldn't try it with him on the line.

Tried it...fail:confused:

Suggestions? Other than "wait" preferably.....

What is the latest carrier file? Or where can I get the latest carrier file?

Started working this afternoon in Raleigh (confirmed 27606 and 27607).
iPhone 3G w/ OS 3.1, Carrier 5.1, iPhone Individual 200 Texting Plan

Works with WiFi on

Not only does this not work, but it killed my VVM as well.

In the cellular data field it has "Visual Voicemail" field with wap.cingular.com in the address, but no username and password.

Any clues?

16GB 3GS - 3.0.1 JB, ATT Carrier File 5.1

THIS WILL WORK.

No tethering, alas, but MMS settings appear (no AT&T love though) AND Visual Voicemail works. I used acds.voicemail for the VVM APN.

Tried it. Weird problem. There’s no “MMS: On/Off” switch.. but the little camera icon shows up in the message.app and when i go into network settings, MMS is there. MMS still doesn’t send. Any other method i’ve tried, it sticks at about 80% full for 1-2 minutes then i get the red exclamation point. With this method it sticks at 80% for 3-4 seconds then fails. Not sure if that’s good or worse than before. lol. Any ideas? (Other than “Wait till Friday”) :p

I'm in Atlanta on an Unlimited Family Texting Plan. Inbound and outbound working great!!

VVM still works great too!!:)

I followed everything, but I still did not get it to work. I have iPhone 3g, 3.1, MAC, not JB. It didn't work following the instructions, then I saw somewhere else to add stuff to the APN, etc. I also turned my WiFi off and tried it on the 3G but no luck.

Alright. For you guys that keep getting the red exclamation point.

1) Manually install 5.5 with the previously posted steps. Still broken? Go to #2.

2) Delete any carrier image/text you’ve added from Cydia. IE: MakeItMine. Still a problem?

3) Call AT&T. Make sure they check your previsions on MMS, and if that still doesn’t fix it.. make them delete ALL of your features and reset it.

They finally had to delete all my features, reset, add them back, resync their account settings then make sure MMS was *ON* and it is fiiiiinally working.. after 8 hours of messing with it.

Only problem now: It still shows the red exclamation like the pictures aren’t sending, but they do send. Weird, but it does work.
