MMS Tutorial for iPhone 3.1 + AT&T

i did the 5.1 update a couple days ago and it wasn't working. i have kept trying to send the last couple days and all of a sudden i am able to send to myself and it comes back to me. so i tried to send one to a friend and they never get it. i asked them to send one to me and i never get it and i don't get the viewmymessage link.
 
Haven't been on here in a while...but I don't have any modified carrier settings and my 3GS suddenly was able to send and receive MMSes today. I got a pic out of the blue from a friend and was surprised.
 
im in columbus ohio, and mine started working on thursday. I updated my carrier file last weekend and got the red ! until thursday. I didnt change anything either, it just started working..
 
Worked for me! Thanks much! I am a primary on a Family Plan so...AT&T removed my opt-out code first. Just needed an IPCC.
 
I updated the carrier to file to 5.1 and I successfully sent a picture to my Verizon BlackBerry. I sent one from my BB to my iPhone, but I have yet to receive it. It will probably be spotty for a while.
 
i'm on an iphone specific unlimited text plan, 20 bucks a month. and it works for me using the carrier file i got from one of the posts here. my voicemail works fine and its sends on wifi fine.

How is that even possible?

The carrier file enables the camera icon in MMS to allow sending pics. You're saying all of the sudden you had that icon on your phone without doing anything?
 
Group Message Broken

I have the same group messaging problem described above. where can i get the orginal ipcc file?

at this point i'm willing to wait until fri.
 
So il in thr OC with no mms. Sept 25th is the day so at midnight will it be turned on or do you all think we will be waiting all day for the flips to be switched.
 
Changed the carrier file yesterday and it didn't work. For the hell of it I tried to send one today and it worked!
Family plan with unlimited messaging
 
With 4 days before the national launch I find it interesting that people are still going to apply a hack instead of just waiting for the official release.

i'm going to try this to see if it works, but is there a way to back up the original (5.0) carrier file in case this doesn't work?
 
MMS Working for me in San Antonio, TX!

I have finally have MMS!!!

I used the most recent tutorial provided by Adam. Initially It did not work, All of my settings were correct. I began trying about 4-5 days ago, and today it's working!

Some notes:
(1) I am on an individual plan (w/ unlimited text and data)
(2) My account WAS OVERDUE at the time i began trying.
(3) My phone got turned off (acct suspended), i paid the bill, rebooted my iPhone and tried MMS for the hell of it, and it went through!

I have sent over 30 MMS messages with no problems. Maybe my account being overdue had something to do with it because after I followed the steps in the tutorial perfectly, i still had no MMS. I paid my bill at an AT&T retail store, asked the rep about an "opt-out" code possibly being on my account, and they knew nothing about it. Hope this helps!
