EDIT: ISSUE RESOLVED, POST #13. TMS4 is incompatible with MMS. (https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/8546688/)

I haven't been able to send an MMS message to anyone yet and when I tried to have somebody send me one it came in as an SMS telling me to go online to view my message.

Does anyone here with TMS4 have MMS working properly?

is that a B2B code? Because I posted last week that the AT&T rep told me that B2B message plans do not include MMS - they are strictly SMS.

That being said - it seems that it should at least allow you to send/rec - but charge you appropriately. Unless since you have the b2b plan - your opt out was never taken off

It is a B2B code, and the description for it says text only, nothing about pictures or videos. I called 611 though inquiring about this and the rep said that no, it should be fine and that everything was just "overloaded."

Meanwhile, people all over the web are reporting that MMS either works or is failing for them, so I have no idea if it's my account or if it's AT&T being a huge amount of FAIL, but I updated my carrier file almost two hours ago and have yet to be able to send an MMS successfully.

I also won't switch to a standard plan until I confirm that TMS4 is blocking it because I can't get TMS4 back then, but all the reps at AT&T seem to contradict one another.

ultimately you want someone to have the same plan who can MMS do verify for you

"should" be able to, as said by the rep is very different from the info I got from a rep which laid it out very specifically. For what that's worth

I'm on the phone with AT+T with the same problem...they are very confused and want to send me to Apple cause they say everything is fine on their end...but the person I'm talking about just doesn't really understand...

PS the person I talked to says that AT+T did absolutely nothing to our accounts to make picture messaging work...it was simply a carrier file update... no opt in's etc...I don't think she is right...

I have the AT&T Twitter team researching it right now. Hopefully I'll have a definitive answer soon.

Same I have it on my plan and it's not working...you will need to upgrade to one of the iphone txt plan...

Suck...but that's what one of the ATT employee told me over the phone...but it is an ATT employee so what do they know right....

Not to be stubborn - but I'm guessing the rep I spoke to was right. Although - again - MMS should still be allowed - they should just charge ala carte for it. Did you guys ask if MMS opt out was removed on your account?

the B2B plans were set up because business users have little to no use for sending MMS.

I'll be really bummed if I had to change plans...I don't really use that many but I might go over 200 texts....I wouldn't mind being charged for picture messaging...and keep the B2B.

Yeah....I know what you mean....I received about 450 txt a month....so 200 is not a good plan and 1500 is just too much....

Why couldn't ATT have one that's in the middle...

They probably should have one in "the middle" say 500 or 700. Of course as soon as they add it someone will complain that 500 or 700 is too little, but 1500 is too large. Then we will have posts from people wanting 1023 becasue that is the maximum that they use. :D

I am talking to another rep who is much more with it and this is what he says....

Our plans are not for multimedia messaging...

So, I said AT+T had said that they would charge 30 cents if we didn't have the correct plan...but I still can't send..

He checked my account and said there is nothing on it that is blocking/preventing messaging.

He says it is officially up tomorrow...today is a test day and it should work tomorrow.

I asked him to open a trouble ticket and explained that there were many people on the internet reporting the same problema and could he have some higher ups look into this issue...that is what he is doing now..

I would honestly prefer to keep the B2B plan and be charged individually for pics....

He did some more research and said B2B should be able to use picture messaging at the additional charge and sent a trouble ticket up for review...5-10 business days.....

I got in contact with the AT&T Twitter media team.

TMS4 is blocked from sending/receiving MMS.

I asked if he could leave TMS4 and then apply a pay-per-use option ($0.30) for MMS and he did that and I can send MMS messages now. This may only be able to be applied by higher level reps.

So if you plan on sending/receiving less than 20 MMS' per month, this way is cheaper.

What about TMB9?

Log into your online account and click manage features. Get the description for your text plan. If it doesn't say pictures/videos in the description then it's probably SMS only, but I can't be positive.

EDIT: OP is incorrect -- at least in my case. I have a B2B plan.

By direction of AT&T tech support gentleman:

I went into Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings

Phone rebooted, made outgoing call. Received MMS and sent an MMS.

Billing rep says since I have a data plan and a text plan, MMS is deducted from my B2B "Text messaging" plan.

Hope this helps everyone.

Do you have the TMS4 plan or something else?

Here's my story:

Tried to send, got red !.

Called AT&T and said I can't send. Inquired about my txt plan. Lady said it should be fine, xferred me to support. Support guy had me reset network settings, make outgoing call, then he sent one. I received. Then I sent to him, he received. Went back to billing and they said B2B plan is fine and includes MMS since I have unl data.

He was explicit about the outgoing call after reset of network settings. Did you try this?

Hmm tech support is still telling me that plan is not compatible. Your proving this wrong.

I'm still getting the "visit viewmymessage.com" when someone sends me a MMS. There is a block somewhere .... I did have them remove the opt-out code.

Sigh
