I've seen this before, but can't find it now. Where is it at on the site?

If you go to "Manage Features", it would be listed there.

I just got mine working (at least for outgoing messages - not sure about incoming yet). I called and had them remove the MMS Opt-out and I did the reset network settings, outgoing call, etc. The girl did say that my plan was not compatible with the iphone because it's old (I've been told that before though). She removed the opt-out and put a pay per use option on there; however, once I got my first MMS to send, she said that I shouldn't be charged because I have unlimited data and a text messaging plan. I told her to just leave everything alone for now and I'll monitor it to see if I'm being charged 30 cents per message. Plus I still need to confirm that incoming MMS works properly. I'll post back with any new info.

The payper use might be what's allowing it ....

That's very possible but she did say that she didn't think I would be charged because of the unlimited data and my text messaging plan. She even refreshed her information to see if any charges popped up as a result of sending the messages and she said nothing came up. It's not like I'm going to use it a lot anyway but I'll keep an eye on it to see if any charges come up. If so, I'll just upgrade to the $15.00 plan if it's worth it.

No MMS opt out anywhere. I assume this would need to be removed before it would work if it was present.

Told me the same thing.. old plan, but should work since I have unlimited data. Billing confirmed. The tech did say that the phone would have to be on ATT's data network, not connected to wifi as MMS is treated as data and has to route via their network.

This part makes no sense at all - it should work on wifi as well. I know one of my messages was sent over wifi and that should not be a problem at all.

I do have my doubts about the billing though. I would not be surprised if they charge 30 cents per message but if they do I'll just call and have them credit the charges.

Actually, it does. MMS sends to xxx-xxx-xxxx, not xxx-xxx-xxxx@att.net (or whatever att's suffix is). AT&T checks to see if it is an AT&T number. If not, it refers to a DB to determine the carrier, then sends it using the appropriate suffix for that carrier.

Your home WIFI network doesn't know what to do with a message sent to XXX-XXX-XXXX.

EDIT: OP is incorrect -- at least in my case. I have a B2B plan.

By direction of AT&T tech support gentleman:

I went into Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings

Phone rebooted, made outgoing call. Received MMS and sent an MMS.

Billing rep says since I have a data plan and a text plan, MMS is deducted from my B2B "Text messaging" plan.

Hope this helps everyone.

Thanks for the advice...I did try this again with the outgoing call and it still doesn't work..I will prly call support tomorrow again.

Not sure if it helps anyone here but this is what my account is showing right now under data usage - makes me feel pretty confident that I will not be charged extra for MMS:

So,

I called again this morning.

Got another person who seemed to understand what I was talking about.

Unfortunately, I do not have an MMS opt-out on my account that they could remove and the rep told me that they do not have a specific MMS code they can add to the account... like the pay per use MMS feature...

She said it is all bundled in to text now and she can't add an pay per use text feature since I already have a text messaging plan.

She speculated that the person above got theirs to work specifically because he had a MMS opt out feature removed from his account...but that since I didn't have one it wouldn't work.(Incidentally, what she said about it all being bundled together makes it seem like if you can use MMS on one of these special plans then it is reasonable to assume you may not get charged extra)

Said the only way to get MMS is to change text plans...and I just don't want to yet, until I see if there is another way...although at this point I am believing there is not...

I wish I didn't have to lose the discount. I guess I'll have to decide what is really important...

OK, Mine is working now and this is what I did.

I searched for a feature code for pay per use MMS...or PPU MMS and found it.

It is MU01

I called AT&T and asked them to add it to my account.

They didn't want to at first and just said MMS outages were a network problem, but I told them my issue was very specific to a B2B messaging plan and could he please try to add the code to my account.

He did..I rebooted and it worked for the first time.

I have no idea if I will get charged...I assume I will so won't be sending them unless I really feel the need but it is nice to have it working.

So this is an option for people who want to keep their B2B and are willing to risk paying for MMS.....

Bah! The rep I was talking to inadvertently switched me to the iphone messaging plan.

Let's hope I can get tsm4 back ..... I've had it for almost year now.

Hmm tech support is still telling me that plan is not compatible. Your proving this wrong.

I'm still getting the "visit viewmymessage.com" when someone sends me a MMS. There is a block somewhere .... I did have them remove the opt-out code.

Sigh

It might just not be in your market, I just got that message saying that it was available here this morning (I'm in NY)

Ok guys and gals - here it is...

ANYONE that has a B2B call up At&t and tell them that you need MU01 added to your account (thank you to the poster before who brought this to my attention).

B2B plans will not allow MMS, and the pay-per-use MMS code needs to be added, whether or not I will be charged per use - I will find out in a month (20 cent per message I believe?).

Ignore EVERYTHING the CSR tells you and just say you need the MU01 added.

My MMS just started working after a restart.

I have the B2B 750 plan, and I just called AT&T to confirm that MMS is not included, but the rep added the pay per use option to my plan. I didn't even have to give her the MU01 code... She knew exactly what to add. My bill cycle doesn't end for another 2 weeks, so I'll just send a few and wait to see if I'm billed for them before I use it more.

I'm not sure I want to....:) It was hard enough to get it working as it is...maybe tomorrow I'll be brave.

I checked my plan today on att.com and it said

multimedia messaging

used 2 of 0

with a big red line

so I believe I will be charged under this plan.

someone else who did the same thing should check as well. I don't think I will use it that much so not too big a deal to me.

My MMS just started working after a restart.

AT&T fail. Called, complained that MMS didn't work with TMB9 (750 SMS for $7.99), and asked to add MU01. I was placed on hold, she came back 4 minutes later, and explained that MU01 didn't work when she tried to add it. She further explained that unless I changed my plan, I would be unable to send 'picture mail'.

She didn't seem really on top of things, but expect some either reluctance or ignorance when you call to fix inability to send MMS.

If you can get someone to add it...I think it will work. Don't take their word for it not working, just tell them to add it anyway and then attempt to send a MMS while you are still on the phone after a restart.

I had many reps tell me that there was no longer an MMS code at all....but that wasn't true either. I think if you are persistent you will find someone to just add the code and not mess with anything....

Mu01

Just confirming that MU01 works. Like others my account shows the messages as pay per use which means we will most likely be charged the .30 cent per message fee.

However, if you send or receive 25 or less MMSs per month it will still be a better deal than upgrading to the $15 plan.

Agreed, it shouldn't be hard to get them to add it (more money for them...) Just be friendly and you should have no problem. Worked on my first try :D

Does anyone know if the BM1000 plan still exist? 1000 text/mms for 9.99

Would be a good deal for those using less then 1000 messages.
