I tired today and yesterday and I cannot get it to connect.I'm really surprised to see everyone having so many problems with the app. I think I wasn't able to connect twice during the first few days of its release, but ever since then its been free sailing.
On another note, Shaun should have some announcements relatively soon regarding the next MobileChat update (3.1) which will solve a number of problems that our users have been experiencing. We are very excited about this release and we hope Apple will bring it to AppStore in record time!
I’ll also post an update tomorrow regarding our plan for the next few weeks and how we plan to handle some of the larger hurdles that have come our way.
Does anyone here ever check their blog! Gosh .
We're in the process of getting Apple to swap the 3.01 update with our latest 3.1 update. The 3.1 update is a HUGE update for MobileChat and should prove to be far more reliable.
Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5C1 Safari/525.20)
Ok. MC is officially on borrowed time. Looks like Beejive is just around the corner (checkout BGR). Beejive is awesome on the BB, and will rock in the iPhone. MC better get a meaningful update out before Beejive is released. Amateur hour is over.
I still cannot connect with mobilechat. It SOMETIMES says cannot connect to mobilechat, but mostly it does NOTHING. It doesn't tell me it can't connect, it doesn't show the services trying to connect.. NOTHING.
I click offline then available and nothing happens.
I'd think after all this time being out, there would be some fix.
There have been three fixes.
First one was submitted a long time ago (12th)...still in review. Second one can't even be posted until Apple approves the first one. And third one is the one that incorporates more features as well.
Proof? Because all I see are blog posts saying that they've submitted updates, but blames Apple for not approving them in time.
What is the process of getting a refund for an app?
While I am certainly not put out for the 2.99 I spent, I probably will request a refund once beejive is released. It's the principle really. They released alpha software and charged for it. Sure they "may" improve it eventually to acceptable standards, but as a consumer with choices I'd rather take my business elsewhere.
This is exactly how I feel. $3 is NOTHING, but I'm sort of disgusted they charged ANYTHING for software that's completely and utterly unusable. Palringo and this new IM+ app are free, and both seem to work fine. The MC guys seem to have also disappeared from their own blog (which I can't even view comments from now either -- did they do something to it because of all the people complaining??).
They've given us absolutely NO reason to support them, or wait for this to get any better (if it ever will). Even their strongest early supporters have quieted down lately, or are asking what the hell is up on their blog. I think everyone's finally gotten the hint that this is a truly amateur operation not worth giving the time of day....
Bradley,
This is actually a known issue with MobileChat 3.0 and we've had a number of users contact us regarding this exact problem. Fortunately, we've resolved this issue in the MobileChat 3.1 update. This new update will be absolutely free and is due to hit AppStore within the next week or so.
We apologize for the frustration that you've experienced thus far and hope to better serve you as we continue to develop MobileChat into a premier application. We accept full responsibility for the poor user experience that we've relayed to our customers and will do anything we can to keep you satisfied.
We appreciate your patience in this matter while we work to resolve your issues.
Thank You,
