I just wish those other apps looked nicer :\.

I know. It's the one thing that's kept me (and probably most people) hanging on with hope about MobileChat -- because it LOOKED the best, and had the most potential. But at the end of the day, what's the point of a good-looking app if it just doesn't work? Palringo and this IM+ app don't look that great, but they both work -- which is a lot more than what can be said for MobileChat, which just doesn't work for me...

Hopefully Beejive comes soon. Looks good AND sounds like it will be stable...

The funny thing is, MobileChat looked better simply because it followed Apple's UI standards. All these others are trying to implement their own look and they look like sheet.

Does anyone else feel uneasy about MC's privacy policy and having account credentials stored on there servers?

Pshh I don't care about my AIM :p. But ya, I'm sure some people do.

I see your point. I have only added my AIM and Jabber accounts. But I have not added my iChat (.mac/mobileme) or yahoo account (secondary email).

I wonder if Beejive will be the same way?

Looks like the cat is out of the bag with one of Twenty08's recent blog posts.

What happened to 3.0.1? Didn’t you submit it when Apple released 3.0?

Yes, we did. In fear of violating our contract with Apple, I can’t reveal any conversations that we’ve had; however, I can tell you that due to a problem in the update, it was rejected for review. The reason isn’t bad nor does it imply anything bad, so don’t worry about that too much. We simply had to make a change in our binary. This occurred about a week ago. However, due to them rejecting the update, we were given another opportunity to upload another binary. Given that it takes almost 8 days (to the hour!) to get an app/update approved, we figured we’d take the extra time to add in all of the bug fixes we had done since we first submitted 3.0.1. Since the update had grown to include an unbelievable amount of bug fixes, we renamed this update to 3.1 to emphasize the changes.

So nothing is in the app approval process at the moment and they plan on (or so they say) submitting 3.1 today so everyone still has another 8 (business?) days at least of waiting.

Is anyone hitting there new 2.0 servers? According to their blog, you will not see any connection details next to each account as they log in.

anyone else find it ironic? "3.0" app, "2.0" servers............and nothing seems to work well?

MC has been working fine for me except for application crashes for the last week. As long as they put out a more stable binary soon, I'll be a-ok with MobileChat.

Does your buddy list actually update and show who is online?

Have not been able to connect at all to MC for last 24 hours. There last blog update was 3 days ago, which was "nothing new to report". What a joke.

I'm so annoyed by the group! I thought, nah, I'll wait until their update arrives on the app store... However, We've been waiting since their release weeks ago! They aren't telling us something, and after there, "MSN is better" post, I thought I'd be able to log in. But I still can't. I've connected ONCE in the first day. And NEVER since!

I deleted it. However, not heard anything back from Apple after applying for a refund either

Just incase anyone was thinking of buying this, despite all the bad press.. JUST DON'T.

the app and dev team need to die. they simply stole our money.

once oneconnect from yahoo gets updated, this app will be = useless.

Beejive can't come soon enough. Once it does, I will request a refund on MC. From their lack of updates for over 3 days now, I have a feeling the hammer fell on these 2 yoyo's and their app/ server.

Well, they just admitted in their latest blog post that they lied about submitting the app and made up some lame excuse where Apple had rejected their updates. Now the predict it will be available by the 24th, just like they do for every app they "submit."

Seriously, can we bring a class action lawsuit against them?

Err.. read it again.. They have been rejected by Apple a couple times in their update and had to remake it. They finally fixed it and sent a build which should be accepted.

But who knows when that would come. They can't guess a date. The app store is random.

um the MC devs said they already sent in this supposed fixed version back at the end of august. im sorry but it doesnt take over 3 weeks for an app to show up in the app store. the fact that their crap app has been rejected multiple times is a sure sign of the idiot devs having no idea what they're doing.

Perhaps Apple actually try the apps themselves now before releasing them. Found out it didn't work, and rejected it. Would make sense, especially given the complaints they will have received about MC.
If only they did that to begin with..

I'm starting to wonder what the communication error that delayed the app was. Did they forget to send Apple a copy of the app? Sent an email and forgot to include the attachment? :p
