My problem is syncing from MM and or iphone TO iCal. It just wont do it! A week or so ago all was fine. If I added an appointment from the iphone or MM it would show up in iCal but now it won't. iPhone to MM and back works fine. When I try to do a manual sync it just says "Calendars could not be synced due to inconsistent data. Confirm that your computer's data is valid, then reset Calendars on MobileMe in System Preferences."

How do I confirm the data is valid?

iCal not syncing to MobileMe

I'm having the same exact issue. iPhone and MobileMe sync fine. But they won't sync to iCal. Getting same data inconsistency error too. Hopefully this problem will just fix itself.

My experience so far after today's announcement by Apple (http://www.apple.com/mobileme/status/) that MobileMe Sync has been fixed.

iCal to http://www.ME.com = Working

Me.com to iCal = Working

iPhone to http://www.ME.com = Working

Me.com to iPhone = I've not had it work/sync automatically. Even after waiting for more than 15 mins*. If I happen to make a new entry or edit an existing one on my iPhone, my Calendars data gets updated from the cloud immediately.

So now it seems that I have a 2.5-way (not 3-way) cloud synching working.

1st gen iPhone, Pwn'd to 2.0 firmware.

sigh... it says 319 days left, lol. I wonder if we're gonna get that month for free. I'm still waiting, nothing yet.

mac -> mobileme

In my case, all other sync data makes it to mobileme (bookmarks, contacts, mail) but the ical sync data does not.

Having followed the steps in the troubleshooting guide at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1679, creating a new user account and syncing worked fine.

Technical service chat guy says this means the problem is most likely to do with a corrupt syncservices folder or something in the keychain but resetting syncservices (via isync preferences) doesn't make a difference nor does repairing permissions. I'd rather not migrate my account to a new user account for this reason; how else can we repair the sync services folder?

I have had similar problems with Address Book and iCal. I found that when going to MobileMe system preferences and clicking on the Advanced tab. From there reset. Then click the appropriate arrow. Either from MoblileMe to Mac or from Mac to MobileMe. For me is was from Mac to MobileMe. Then click the the right application to syncing. Hopefully this may help.

The Lies Companies Tell to Sell Products...

I've been so having problems syncing from iCal to MM...I guess everyone here is in the same boat. However, it seems that some people have managed to resolve their issues or have had them magically disappear (perhaps the folks at Apple do know what they're doing?). I think I'm probably just going to wait this one out and see if it starts working before I go back to school in a couple weeks. Either way, this MobileMe service is dismal at best and definitely was not ready for release. Apple has given us a 30-day reprieve from our troubles, but if problems persist beyond that date, I think many users would have a hard time not being compensated for wasting $99 on a product that doesn't work anything like it was advertised...just a thought.

iCal, MobileMe and iPhone 3G calendars

Hi

I'm a confused Newbie.

A basic question maybe, but, I have iCal and a MobileMe Calendar on my MacBook (Leopard) and an iPhone 3G which has a calendar. Are these all the same thing? And why have I two calendars (iCal & MM) on my Mac?.

Thank you for any help.

Mike

Problems Syncing iphone & MobileMe contacts & calendar

Hey all,

Well, I was relieved to see this thread and know I wasn't alone in my frustration. I did get mine working somewhat, so perhaps this will help.

In my case, iTunes had reverted to not synching any of the items on the Info tab. I re-enabled this and did a sync, which got the Mac and iPhone in sync fine, as you'd expect.
HI BIGGLESWORTH - HOW DID YOU RE-ENABLE SYNC ON YOUR IPHONE?

I had already reset the sync data through the MobileMe preference pane, overwriting MobileMe data with the information from my Mac. This had no effect on the online calendar though. After I'd synched the iPhone overwriting its contacts and calendar info from the Mac, the information online was updated.

WHAT ABOUT WHEN YOU INPUT DATA INTO YOUR IPHONE? IS THAT OVERWRITING YOUR MOBILE ME (MM) CONTACTS & CALENDAR?

I tested it by adding an event in iCal, it showed up on the iPhone a few seconds later. I've tried it a few times now and it seems to work fine, showing up just as the auto sync gets going.

The online MobileMe calendar doesn't seem to be picking up the changes and changes I make on the site don't show up on my phone, so I'm not sure what's up there.

THANKS FOR AT LEAST POSTING SOME ATTEMPTS AT SOLUTIONS. WHAT I'M STRUGGLING WITH IS THAT WHATEVER NEW CONTACTS I'M PUTTING INTO MY IPHONE IS LATER WIPED OFF THE IPHONE WHEN MM SYNCS! ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Anyway, I'm happy enough for now, I hope this helps some of you.

Good luck!
THANKS

IN THEORY THESE THREE CALENDARS, SHOULD BE THE SAME (I.E. IF YOU'RE SYNCING PROPERLY THEY ARE MEANT TO DISPLAY THE SAME DATA).

ON YOUR MAC YOU HAVE 2 CALENDARS, BECAUSE iCAL IS DEDICATED TO YOUR MAC & MM OR THE CLOUD IS MEANT TO BE THE ULTIMATE HARD COPY, WHICH CAN SYNC WITH ANY HARD DRIVE THAT YOU HAVE. FOR EXAMPLE, i have a PC as well as MacBook Pro, so your MM calendar should merge with all of them. I'm pretty new to this, but hope this helps. Though looking at most of these threads, SYNCING is the one thing MM is struggling to do properly at the moment.
