Is there a chance to resurrect this thread? It's 2023, what's the best option for getting the clips necessary for Northbridge heat sink maintenance? My NB to NB diode delta is 15 degrees. Is there an easy-to-use kit out there?
Howdy, the clips I used I got from an old motherboard I had laying around, I was in a rush to resolve the issue and they have lasted ever since, I did order random clips off of Amazon and they do fit as I used it on a different Mac Pro 4.1.
Basically any “heat sink clips” on Amazon I would imagine works, from what I recall I reused the Mac Pro’s springs from the clips as it was slightly different (more tension), the clips themselves seem to be really generic and were the same size as the replacements.
I do advise to get good thermal paste though. Good luck!
