Has anyone gone from a 27" iMac display to a 27" 2K display. I know the 27" iMac will be sharper but it it a night and day difference. I trying to decide between a 27" 4K monitor running at 2x scaling (1920x1080) or running a 27"2K at 2560x1440.
Thanks for you experience and thoughts

I'm running my 4K LG 27UP850 at 1440p and everything looks crisp.

Next to my 5k iMac I have a 27" 2560x1440p display specifically for photography. Couldn't be happier, although I might switch that iMac for a Mac Studio. Could also be Mac Studio + another 5k display. Still not sure. That 2560x1440 display stays, whatever.

EDIT I should add my eyes are old :)
I did this last year when I traded my 2017 27" iMac for a Studio. I didn't want to shell out for a Studio Display so I got two QHD displays instead running at 2560x1440 side by side. The difference is noticeable going from the iMac's display to QHD. However, for my use case (no heavy graphics or video), they are just fine after I got used to them and some tweaking. I will admit that I felt sad for a bit knowing that I did a downgrade on the display.

BTW, my eyes are old too! :)
