Had lunch with a buddy in Reston, VA. I arrived early and stopped by the Apple Store there... Ended up with a 64gb wifi iPad out of that visit. <eek>

Still haven't opened it yet, still on the fence on the 3G model LOL

Forgot add in like $200 worth of accessories... no case yet - going to get the Skooba cases through work (great discounts). Going to look at book stands and plate stands as to opposed the the cases that double as stands...

+1... you must have some kind of psychological problems to be able to wait

No just cheap... don't want to pay the 10% restock fee if I decide on the 3G model LOL

Open it and enjoy it, Chip!!!!! After you've used it then you can decide better about exchanging it for a 3G version come Friday......

Well you know me, love my toys. :)

Rationalized the 64GB wifi model in that I will be getting the 4th generation iPhone this summer. Been three years with the 1G iPhone and it is starting to show some wear and tear.

Restocking fee for opening it is half the price of the 3G add-on.

Having 3G is a nice option, even if you're not going to use it often. Having GPS is another feature you won't get on the iPad Wi-Fi at all.

I'd return it and get the 32GB+3G. Guarantee you won't be filling up to 64GB, and you can stream to your heart's content over 3G, if you have AirVideo or StreamToMe or Simplify Music 2 if you never let that go, or thousands of radio stations on Wunder Radio, etc. I can't even fill up my 16GB iPad, so my second iPad is going to also be 16GB+3G.

I have same iPad and love it. No wifi issues etc.
How was lunch?:D

Even my girlfriend who bought mine as a present for me couldn't resist opening it (and her mum couldn't resist taking it and showing all her friends... ), so I have no idea how you can manage it! (I won't be getting my 'now used' iPad until 2 weeks time... the anticipation is building)

Hear you there, and wrestling with demons here LOL But in trying to keep bills down, think that the iPhone 4G will be enough when I can get my iPad to a free wifi spot.

As to the 64GB over the 32GB, decided that with being a photographer having more memory was a better choice long term. Also looking forward to loading up on PDF's to help me at work.

Funny, I'm returning my 64 gig wifi model to the Reston store today.

LOL that is way to funny.... So you going to wait for the 3G?

I dont want to hijack this thread but i keep hearing about people buying i pads and then returning them. Why not sell them on ebay to someone oversees for a nice premium instead paying of restocking fees?

Honestly, I would not have bought an ipad if there had not been a 3G option. This device is all about mobility to me.

Nah, I couldn't couldn't find a place for it in my life between a MBP and an iPhone. There are lots of other things I'd rather do with the money.

Not to be a killjoy or anything, it's an awesome device. Just not quite what I want right now.

+1, I agree....You make a whole lot a profit!:D

I have totally thought about this and maybe making enough profit to buy the 3G model. But when I look on bay it seems everyone buys them brand new and doesn't open them and then sells em' do you think I could get profit off of my, obviously, slightly "used" 32gig wifi?

Now that i know that the camera connection kit will upload raw files I kind of wish I had gotten a larger size...oh well I won't be upgrading my DSLR for a while, and my current one uses CF.

Not a kill joy at all. LOL

Some of your thoughts is why I went with the wifi model over the 3G one.

With a MBP and iMac at home... realize that the MBP may go... don't need the power of it when I travel really. And the 3G of my next iPhone will be OK for when I am too cheap to pay for wifi service. LOL

Who knows I may get back to reading again LOL

Why did you buy it if you aren't going to use it?? You already knew the 3G isn't out until this weekend.
