Chip, you need to stop LOL'ing and open the damn thing all ready! You will not regret it.

C'MON!!!!
*GROUP CHANT* Do it! Do it! Do it!

You are so bad! LOL

Will be doing later tonight after the t-storm passes LOL

Why did you buy it if you aren't going to use it?? You already knew the 3G isn't out until this weekend.

Wanted an iPad, but have been on the fence about the 3G model.

I blame my depression era parents :) The 3G model is $130 more, and I will be one of those keeping my iPhone and upgrading to the next one this summer. Plus the added $15 to $30 a month for 3G service. But there is/was a side of me that still wants the 3G just in case.

Um... Because if he didn't we wouldn't have this amazing thread full of peer pressure for him to open it... Duh.

LOL.. do have good resolve here... but making the leap and will open it up after the t-storms pass...

I can't believe people are able to just walk in and find one when I'm here having the hardest time of my life getting ahold of one!

Well last Friday I went to the Tysons Apple Store set on getting a 16GB wifi model.... they were out. :(

So with the lunch plans at Uno's in Reston, and some time to kill - decided to look at the iPad and see if they had any in stock... when I asked if they had any in stock, he answered yes.... I asked which ones - he asked me which one that I wanted - and joked that I could buy all three LOL

Just hit them at the right time I guess. :)

Go ahead and use it! You won't have to pay a restocking fee if you exchange for 3G. All I had to tell them was that I was returning (the wifi model) to wait for the 3G, and they waived the fee.

Sorry for back to back posts.. I just remembered that they didn't even look inside the box when I returned mine! Now, I know eventually they would catch up with someone who returned an empty box, but it seemed kind of strange to me.

MOAR LOL PLZ :D

You definitely have that new Apple product glow about you!

LOL

Well broke the box open here folks! Guess the baby is mine now.... still going to wait a bit for the weather to clear before syncing.

My boss is going to be pissed off though - asked her to let me off at 6PM Friday in hopes of getting an iPad 3G - I am with the unwashed masses with no pre-order. LOL

Well I worked with the manager of the store, and asked that question of him about remorse over the wifi vs the 3G model - he told me it would be a 10% restock fee... :(

Got over my buyers remorse here - given that the 3G's are here on Friday.... for my budget rather have the ram over the 3G. Can't wait to sync it up now....

Think resale value if they come out with a new generation that you want. WIFI + 3G capabilities probably will add to that value.

When I heard most expensive lunch, I naturally assumed you left your iPad at the restaurant and lost it.

Had a dinner like that

A. Buddy and I dropped through a Best Buy after dinner. I had myself convinced to wait for the next generation iPad but once I saw one in person and picked it up and played with one, I became unconvinced.

The iPad is clearly not without issues but it's pretty remarkable for a first generation product and firmware and software will eventually address most issues.

While it has not really "replaced" my Macbook Air, I find myself traveling with a more powerful Macbook along with the iPad. The MacBook tends to stay on my desk and the iPad goes to meetings.

Will be glad to see iPad apps become more polished and full features and see something better to facilitate file sharing and printing be put in place though.

Glad i am not the only one here LOL

Not a kill joy at all. LOL

Some of your thoughts is why I went with the wifi model over the 3G one.

With a MBP and iMac at home... realize that the MBP may go... don't need the power of it when I travel really. And the 3G of my next iPhone will be OK for when I am too cheap to pay for wifi service. LOL

Who knows I may get back to reading again LOL

Please stop with the "LOL". As a general rule, we typically know when something is suppose to be funny.
