Does anyone know how to force OTA lollipop or is there an image I can flash on my new Moto X ?

X 13 owner here, patiently waiting. Decided to just let it happen as it will and not force anything. I have never had good luck forcing something before and this will be no exception.

Mine updated last night (I'm in the UK)

Yeah I read that they were rolling out to the UK. Still annoying that you have to wait territory by territory for the OTA. Hopefully it arrives sooner rather than later, I'm not confident in flashing roms / unlocking boot loaders etc..

Yeah I will likely wait - I had assumed the full rollout for the X 2014 was done - but looks far from the case.

Looks like your Moto X finally came in MRU. I've been enjoying mines so far except for 2 random reboots but I'm looking forward to your thoughts.

Yep. :)

Quick Initial thoughts - slimmer than it appears in photos
Screen - nice & bright, but very oversaturated - given I normally turn off / dial down saturation on AMOLED - it looks a tad too vibrant as it stands.
I got the black resin version - id assumed this was a hard back - its not - it feels soft. It feels nice - but it is one hell of a fingerprint magnet.
Sound - speaker is nice and loud and clear.

Have you tested the camera yet?

Yup this is my biggest pet peeve with the device. Followed by battery life. I can't blame them though. Samsung ships log generation AMOLED units to rivals and keeps the best of best for itself. So Motorola didn't have a choice outside of going the LCD route which.

In hindsight they probably should've done. Especially now that Lollipop is full of white backgrounds.

Got mine two days ago, and it's awesome! It was used since launch, but still mint. Went with the black front, bamboo back, and silver accents. Looks very nice. Minus the Verizon branding... (M8 Shot)

The camera is decent outdoors, good details on all that dirt

But way, way worse in low light than my HTC One M8. That thing could practically see in the dark and hit the nail on the head when it came to focus.

Overall, I love Lollipop (it shipped with it on there from the seller, OTA came in November in US). The speakers aren't as good as my M8, but still nice and loud. The camera is better with video (4K is sweet!) but lacking in low light and focus along with lack of options in the camera app compared to HTC's. The earpiece speaker volume is also lower, but not as bad if you shift the phone to the right a little. Battery is worse too, I'm usually at 30-50% at the end of the day with the M8, but it's down to 10% on the Moto X. With less screen on time too. But I'll give it a week to settle down.

I like the bamboo back - its very nice. :) Truck photo is excellent at least.

I just found out that my new Moto X 2014 (bought from Amazon.es) whilst sim free and free of any carrier bloat is not in settings 'retail' but 'orange' ??? So it looks like I will have to wait until orange spain release the lollipop update. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

A few camera samples from my walk this morning.

It's certainly a step up from the 2013 Moto X

My pics were horrible

I have the new Moto x and my pictures and videos are coming out terrible. I tried both 1080p and 4K video and you can't focus manually. The auto focus is very slow and doesn't stay locked. I'm sure some of this is me, but I've ordered a oneplus one and am leaning toward sending back my Moto x.

Where is the option for 4k recording? I can only see 1080p in camera settings....

Never mind found it now ..... :) not keen on the camera app. Settings quite awkward compared to simply having a proper menu / settings button all the other cameras on devices go with.
Photos are absolutely gorgeous MRU. I haven't gotten around to testing out the camera but after looking at these, I'm not overly worried.

Thanks. Yeah and these were taken on a dull dim winters day. :). Is it the best out there, possibly not but its still a lot better than other devices I've used so I'm not concerned.

You can flash Lollipop for the XT1092 models.

The OTA is available to download at XDA.

I have flashed using this method and have got Lollipop on mine

Yep just looking into that now. I see I can also change my product code to retail eu as well so may do that at same time. :)

Still find flashing scary.

Do you have to unlock your boot loader to do this (flash lollipop)

Getting brave are ya? How do you like it so far?

Was very nerve racking, especially as i had contrasting info on how to do it with a Mac. But yeah sorted now. Just updating all my apps but my internet is like a snail tonight.

So far its nice, not sure its faster than the Moto X was on 4.4.4 though tbh. But it does look aesthetically nice, much prefer the way the menu and onscreen buttons now show extra menu in there too.
