I have to agree with post #2. Seriously, if you have apps that are most important to you then you need to do some ***** research to ensure those apps will work. There was and is a large thread discussing the various beta releases of the OS and I am 100% certain that you could have asked the devs of your apps to ensure they were ready.

You are not fit to be a launch day upgrader, clearly. If you cannot perform the most basic tasks that are standard procedure before upgrading an OS then you need to wait out the first or second revision to ensure you get what you need.

Apple sucks in some ways but in this case this is no one's fault but your own.

While I do think the OP is a bit overboard in his response to his issues, it is not without irony that I note an awful lot of ma fans are making the same defense of Mountain Lion that windoze fans were making following criticism of Vista-- only to be mocked by Mac fans.

I am pretty much OS agnostic so I really don't care what operating system I am using, so I find the whole my os is better than your os tiresome, but at times like this it is at least amusing....

Thanks APPLE! YOU BROKE EVERYTHING!

Cant print.

Laggy Scrolling

Slow Webpage loading

Slow everything!!!

WELL DONE ANOTHER CRAP SOFTWARE LAUNCH!
Wait an hour. Once Spotlight finishes its re-index everything goes back to normal, as you've most likely discovered by now :p

ML is awesome. My MBP cold boots in 12 seconds to the login screen. I wish I could default Safari to full screen without the restore feature turned on. Anyone know some plist entries for that one?

I don't think Mountain Lions suck except for when they are cubs feeding from their mother, during the rest of their lives they tend to eat by chewing and drink using their tongues to scoop in water.

Well they can,... if you give them a toy where they have to suck out the meat!!!

I'm pretty agnostic too, but I don't think anyone would equate Vista and ML! Even diehard Windows fans will admit that Vista was the Windows ME of the modern era, while ML is a slicker version of Lion with some worthwhile extra features.

I still run one or two apps in Win 7 (in Parallels) and think it's an excellent OS.
In the Snow Leopard days, I said there was little to choose between the two. Lion put OSX significantly ahead for me, mostly due to the trackpad gestures (one of those improvements that sounds small but makes a massive difference to everyday use). ML puts OSX further ahead. I'll wait for the release version of Win 8 to see how that changes the comparison (I'm not brave enough for betas!).

USER ERROR once again :p

This is one of those times where RTFM would come into play and find out if the software you need will work or be compatible with ML, or if any other purchase is required BEFORE upgrading.

In short, PEBKAC.

BL.

Wow, you got me on this one. PEBKAC?

Prior Extensive Book Knowledge Always Counts?

Probably Even Burger King Allows Catsup?

Portable Electrocardiogram Batteries Kill Another Coroner?

I upgraded today and... VMWare Fusion doesn't launch, because it's incompatible with MTL. 1. That is just bs, 2. VMWare wants $49.99 to upgrade. Second complaint- remember that Mac commercial with the ******* in the blue shirt and the fat guy with a man who appeared to be a Secret Service Agent behind him? Yeah that's the one, where Apple mocked Windows for asking all the security questions. Guess who does that now? You guessed it, Mountain Lion. He's your new security guard and by default he won't let you install apps from outside the App Store or people who are verified by Apple. This is ridiculous. Last Mac I own, and I'm switching wholesale to Linux. Thanks Crapple.

I want the down arrow back.

Go back to Windblows. Geez

I find it interesting that he can afford a 2k dollar laptop but complains about spending 49.99 to upgrade his ancient software that's not compatible with the latest OS.

Kind of like the Office XP users complaining that it doesn't work with windows 7.

Twfh :p

(that was friggin hilarious)

Somebody better call a WHAAAAMULANCE.

mountain lion doesn't suck the OP sucks, because all his complaints are not ML's fault, it's his fault he's a mac noooob!
1. VM ware is a third party app, and it would work if you paid for the upgrade.
2. just disable gate keeper in the system preferences (like everyone else).
I'm surprised that you didn't include the fact that ML doesn't automatically wipe your ass for you as one of your complaints.
