Well they did say 1 in a million chance...
As noted Apple has said that twins and close siblings could trick FID. However, if you can’t trust your twin or close siblings then you have far greater problems then your iPhone security.
Did it unlock straight away the first time or did you play with it and unlocked it by passcode a few times during the day? If you did then it probably adapted itself to your face

That's so interestingIt did it the first time I picked the phone up! Firstly it entered a password into a field from the keychain and we thought it was a bug but then a bit later we realised I could unlock the phone every time. And now it’s basically mine.
This is what I am curious about. Is it still unlocking for your face? Apple said it adapts and gets better over time. I would be interested to know if it stops working for you/him in a few hours or days.
That's so interesting
Since you two look so similar to eachother my guess is that it really adapted to your face after only one passcode since the differences between you two are so small
Did you try resetting face-id and check if you can get in immediately or if you need to enter passcode once before it adapts?
Well the counterpoint to this is that close siblings and identical twins are far more likely to be around your phone.
So while fingerprints may only have been a 1-in-50,000 chance, that is across a random selection of the population
Right.... I like how everyone is making a joke about this, but another post on the first page I think said that his brother could open his too, and they aren't that close. So the question will be, how close do you have to be for it to work?
You may not be twins, but you are eerily similar. I recommend one of you elect to get a nose job, cheek and chin implants, and an eye lift. Small price to pay, really.
That’s a great question.Apple will be rolling out the iLift add-on shortly, $499.
Seem to recall reading somewhere that FaceID is an ever-learning system, in that it is updating itself with each scan of the face, to adapt to, say, face puffiness, for example. Can see OP triggering the unlock. Where it will be interesting is to hear if siblings can unlock a phone after a month or more of usage (ie. FaceID has trained itself well enough that similar sib features are not a false positive).

It would be really bad if pointing the iPhone X at my butt also unlocks it.
You are right about that. My company might disable FaceID. The ironic thing is that it is relatively easy to fool fingerprint ID systems. That doesnt bode well for security. Alot of companies that relied on touchID for security will use this as a reason not to add FaceID support, especially banks and CC companies.
Here’s another if this changes anything.

Hopefully this is something that can be addressed with software, if it does appear to be more widespread.NO, you guys dont look like twins but indeed close. There are clear differences that can be seen and its pretty sad this "revolutionary" camera cant figure it out with 30,000 dots mapped on a face.
That’s really interesting, as everything I’ve read says that the Samsung facial recognition system is less advanced than Apple’s.
The bolded portion completely invalidates your comment and quickly moves you into the "Samsung shill" category.

OP. I'm curious. Have you tried Google Photos? Can google photos differentiate you?
