Damit- another apple Rev Thought we were beyond those days.

Love the new IPP - but need to wait for the next iteration to fix another iPhone 6 issue here. Ives has to get over this daft thinness obsession , especially the new prices, laptop replacement need to be durable

I’m just saying how it is, I don’t like being dishonest, and I’d rather not downplay any of this. Defects are defects, it’s so appalling that people can not comprehend that some others don’t find any sort of defect acceptable? I’m using these words by definition by the way. If you disagree, get off my thread.

Accepting things blindly is naive to me for the money you’ve spent, and knowing you have defects but accepting it anyway is beyond naivety, or just careless. This is why I can’t accept that mindset, there are perfect units out there, you just don’t know better.

If my old iPad Pro and current MacBook Pro don’t have any sort of warping, then this new generation iPad Pro shouldn’t have it either.

Nonsense, absolute nonsense. You’re acting completely disingenuous. That wasn’t your point before any of this, your *point* keeps changing, and what you’re trying to tell me now is bull.

Your initial response was that nothing is perfect; then you back track and contradict yourself twice by saying your devices were perfect and not perfect, then telling me you naively accept defective devices; now after my response, you’re telling me that it’s all about perception? And what seems fine to you might not be for others? What a joke this is lol, that’s exactly the point of my last comment, or did you not read it thoroughly?

Don’t try to turn this ‘perception’ thing back at me. You’re the one that’s clueless as to why somebody would take offence to a defect. I don’t examine my devices at an extreme level, unless you’re trying to be quaint with your patronizing, raising an iPad against a lamp is not extreme. I’ve already told you the case with mine, you do not listen at all. A condition I felt later on took me to examine my unit at an angle, prompting for a return, it is expected for me to review the new unit for the same imperfection.

You can’t just choose what defect is acceptable and unacceptable, different people have different perspectives, but one thing is for certain, defects are defects. And as said previously, you can not comprehend defects, you do not care for defects, and you do not understand how the amount of money you are spending affects your perspective on the product you are purchasing. Don’t try to twist this around. Defects are bad, you lack common sense or the need to act.

If you truly understand your own point, ‘what’s fine to me, may not be to others’, then you shouldn’t have commented in the first place. You never questioned about a person’s definition of perfection, quit lying, are you making this up as you go? You said nothing was perfect, and went and told me how your devices are and aren’t perfect. I can’t take anything you say seriously.

We’ve already gone through this, you are careless, ignorant, and naive, by definition of course, so I shouldn’t have to sugar coat this for you.

Do you know what a defect is? The metal should be flat, not rippled. I already said this to you once. It is a defect. I can not believe you think warped metal isn’t a defect. You can go ahead and tell me why warped metal isn’t a defect though.

By the way, you don’t need direct light to see it, it’s just easy to view them with a camera. And obviously you need to look at the back of your iPad to view the bumps on the back lol, stop trying to make it seem like there’s more steps to this. If it’s warped, then you have to find where it is located, this shouldn’t even need to be stated.

Apologists are doing back-flips right now as Apple is ****ing up on multiple fronts and, coincidentally, Apple's stock price is crashing, and has been continuously for many weeks now.

Back to the topic. Apple goes with ~0.7mm thick aluminum absolutely to the limit. Warping seems to occur on some batches in manufacturing. It should be a result of deep drawing very thin aluminum alloy. Other methods of production (molding or CNC), thicker aluminium or stronger materials e.g. Metal Matrix Composites or Carbon Fibre-Enhanced Plastics would be more expensive and/or even worse for the environment. If they do not already, then they could take higher quality 7xxx aluminum to get a slightly more stable product. Apple has never been very innovative in using materials. I just remember the years of licensing Liquidmetal, to end up making only a sim ejector tool for some iPhones out of it. At least low aluminium consumption protects the environment and most people seem to find it sufficiently stable.

I was wondering if we could do a summary of all the Flaws/Imperfections seen in the new iPads 2018 here and see who has it and who doesn't?

1) Warping Issue (Thankfully not noticable for me)
2) Bending (None for me)
3) Minor scratch on the Antenna Lines at the back for the LTE model. (Most obvious in the Space Grey Model)
4) Scratches on the iPad Pencil Docking Grey Patch (Most OBVIOUS for me)

Feel free to continue with the list if there is anything else you encounter.

if you know something about statistics, you know that such a statistic says nothing.
