So anyone have any suggestions for Benchmarking tools? Macbench? Xbench?
I have used Xbench in the past when I just had my MacBook Pro but haven't used it since and have no experience with other tools.

Hmmm interesting. I usually use XBench as that is what many members on here recommended and used. Would be great if everyone would use the same general test. Xbench does do the CPU and GFX.

XBench is awfully out of date, it's last compile was from 2006
I would opt for Cinibench R10 as well, or even GeekBench worked great
Please not Xbench... it is out of date...
A quick download to :

Could you please run this command in the terminal:
ioreg -lw0 > quadcorei5.ioreg
and send me the resulting quadcorei5.ioreg file? This file contains all the details of your hardware configuration. I'm really curious and this information could be very helpfull to me. This command is completely harmless, it will just write the configuration into this file. If you agree (please do) I can give you my email...
It's very important to me.
Please don't forget about me Carressa ;-)
Why do you think it's not a good idea? this command just prints out hardware configuration with all the details. Of course I can ask a direct question - what's the cputype value in your efi, but probably not many people would be able to answer that question. That's why I want ioreg output.
OP, I don't think this is a good idea and would not do it. If this person needs any info you can give them that specific info instead of all of it. Or they can wait and get their own i5.![]()
Agreed, this Terminal command will do a dump of your compete system information, including serial number.
I would not give in, If the other user needs this info he/she should make their way down to an Apple Store to have a look for them selves.
Only my opinion, it's better to be safe than sorry eh
pictures on this machine have we see a long time ago, we just want benchmarks.
