This is among the most useless threads Iā€™ve ever seen on here.
How do you hurt your relationship with something so minor, it doesnā€™t even exist yet??
You donā€™t even know what colors it might come in and have nothing better to do to argue about which hypothetical might hypothetically look better. Wow.

Check yourself before you wreck yourselves.
Please donā€™t have kids.

I disagree. This thread is one of the most useful ones I've ever seen. šŸ˜€

Most threads are about Apple this and Apple that. This thread is a HOLY MOTHER OF GOD - DO NOT DO THINGS LIKE THIS reminder to everyone who is in a relationship and wants to stay in it happily.

Most of us probably have something dumb like this where we're being stubborn and we should just let it go for the sake of our relationships. A spouse, a sibling, a parent, a friend...whoever.

When in doubt, Coming to America has the answers to most things in life.

This is causing fights every time I bring it up. Just got done arguing about it all
morning and now she is being passive aggressive and isolating.

We plan on purchasing an iMac for the bedroom when the new M4s come out.
My wife wants a cool colorā€¦ purple, blue, or green. I want a warmer colorā€¦ red or yellow.
Not orange.

Anyone married that can think of a system of choosing that is neutral and will make us both content? Thanks!
Blue will make you both happy.

Show her the last picture of the Yellow set up on page 1, sheā€™d ditch her colour options, and there will be no further arguments.

I love my yellow M1 iMac every single day, and when it's time for an upgrade, I'll stick with yellow. The colour is just so uplifting! ;)

This is why so many American men go to third world or overseas to get a wife when I see those YouTuber lol. They are tired of Liberated strong American women. These guys usually go for 20-30 years younger. In the provinces or outskirts. Education about 3 or 4th grade level. Always says yes and does all the housework. These men can get whatever color they want for an iMac. Paradise...until they realize she might be a Ladyboy in the end? LOL

Thank you all for the kind words of advice and what you would do. A few things.

-Silver is not an option as neither of us want that color.

-With the utmost truthfulness, my wife and I have a great marriage outside of this one issue. This is the one issue that has kept coming up for us since August when I first heard about the m4 iMac being released soon.

-Happy wife, happy life folks are for the most part correct as I do live my life this way for everything outside of this situation. I have been passionate about the iMac since I purchased an iMac G3 from my schoolā€™s computer lab with my savings when I was 11. It was the computer that got me into technology and specifically making an account with MacRumors. This is something Iā€™m passionate about and have no room for compromise. But my wife says the same thing to me; that is why itā€™s tough.

-We are open to have another discussion from scratch if new colors are released.

November first Iā€™m not sure whatā€™s going to happen. We are going to be in the Apple Store on day one and I just hope we donā€™t make a scene and someone records or something. I just hope it works out.

Honestly I can't think of any color choice I've been this passionate about. Perhaps if it was the color of the car I personally drove but even then not sure. To each his own of course I am sure there are things I am passionate about that would surprise others...

I do have to ask you how such a situation will be worth it?

Also I have to go back to, why do you want an iMac in the bedroom in the first place? And now why do you want an object that one of you is going passionately hate in the bedroom?

I am now oddly wishing Apple releases the iMac in a whole new color that both of you like. And if not, wishing you all the best on this!

Your video of when you make the colour decision and buy the iMac will be at least as interesting as the next Apple "event"

Also, who is using this iMac? Is the OP's wife going to use it at all, or is she involved only because it's going to be in her bedroom?

5 seconds after returning it on, youā€™ll forget all about the color. Itā€™s a non issue. Get whatever she wants.

As soon as I got home my wife waved Apple News on her iPhone in my face with the announcement teaser of new iMacs next week. Without even saying hi she said,ā€a purple one right?ā€

I couldnā€™t handle it so I am out on a park bench venting here
