I use traditional method -> food grade ethanol, should be better then isopropyl in terms of safety

I'm not sure why one would use ethanol over IPA. IPA is non-conductive, which means one could submerge an entire PC motherboard in it without causing any damage. Of course you'd need to allow the motherboard to dry completely, but that doesn't take long.
