Can I turn off the animations when your in mail app and you delete an email? It does this weird animation showing it going to the trash. It slow!!!

I've been having all of these issues since iOS13 release. After speaking with Apple I think I've finally sorted mine out. You may not need to follow the first steps as I assume it was the second onces that actually resolved it but this is what we went through.

First Steps
- Remove all mail accounts
- Delete native mail app
- Download native mail app from App Store (DO NOT OPEN IT)
- Restart phone

Second Steps
-
Plug phone into pc/mac and open iTunes (ensure iTunes is up to date)
- On phone hold down power and volume down buttons until iTunes tells you phone is in recovery mode.
- In iTunes click the option to update to latest iOS (even though you are already on it)
- After phone boots back up readd your mail accounts.

Hopefully they will all work as expected after this.
Tried and didn’t work for me. Thanks for the suggestion.

Gave this a shot - did not work. If anything (not blaming you at all) it's actually worse. I was getting notifications on maybe 10% of emails. Now it's mute (and yes, I checked and reset all of the notification settings). How Apple could release four versions of 13 to the public and leave the Mail app crippled is beyond my imagination.

Anyone have any experience of this?

That sucks, at least it saves me installing Beta 1 then.

Do the Mail app team have a direct contact email - has anyone logged this with Apple with a case/bug number I can add to?

I sent about 3 email in the beta feedback area. No response to any of them. I am very surprised that haven’t fixed this on a core app. Especially when corporate email is kind of important. I’m using my XS max on 12.4.1 and have until tomorrow to return the 11 pro Max. I was really hoping it would have been fixed by now.

I so totally agree. I traded my XS Max back to Apple under the IUP. The mail bug(s) are so frustrating that I am seriously considering returning this 11 PM and buying another XS Max. At a hardware level, I really prefer the 11 Pro Max, but living with the Mail mess is very difficult and I have no idea whether we're talking about three weeks, three months, or never to get it fixed. I have until Sunday to decide.

What gets me about all this is, I know I’m not the only person that submitted feedback in the beta app about all the broken ****. Yet it’s still not fixed and were already 13.1.2 into the release two weeks after 13 drops.

Mail is still a dumpster fire. Unreliable. No new mail unless I open and refresh the app. Brand new phone setup XS Max. Started fresh after wiping/DFU restore. Tells me it’s not me or a backup because I didn’t use one!

Mail is so broken, I can’t believe they have sent out a few updates since iOS 13 and it’s still broke.
I am actually returning the 11pro max today and keeping the XS max for now. Once they sort this all out I will probably rebuy the 11. It is pretty embarrassing.

Except of battery and camera I don’t see a difference between XS Max and 11 Pro Max.

I am so close to there...the problem is that I'd be buying last year's phone at this year's price, since I no longer have my XS Max. :(

Mail became even more broken for me on 13.2 beta. Now it’s not even syncing read/move activity for me. I’ve just resorted to using the outlook app until they sort it out.

Hmm, interesting that people are having different issues with the native mail app. Since 13.1.2 I have almost zero issues with my Exchange account. It has recently been an issue for my iCloud email, in that it takes forever to check for mail.
I do get the correct count of emails on the iPhone home screen, and I do see notifications in the Lock Screen and Notification Center. But when I open the app, and manually pull down on the iCloud inbox page, it can take up to 30 seconds to check for mail and refresh.
I loaded 13.2 b1 last evening, and Exchange seems to be rock solid (speaking too soon...), with continuing issues on the iCloud side.
IP 11 Pro, one Exchange (360?) account and one iCloud account, both set to push, Exchange set as primary account.

I have non-Exchange related issues with the Mail app in 13.1. I have three mailboxes (iCloud, Gmail and outlook.com) and whenever I click on the email notification on the lock screen, sometimes it opens the email itself (expected behaviour), other times it just shows the inbox.

And when I delete an email while viewing it, sometimes it just goes to a blank dark screen, other times it displays the next email in the inbox (expected behaviour) while sometimes it simply goes back to the particular account inbox (not All Inboxes).

The Mail app has been a **** show for me since iOS 12. I didn't think it could get worse in iOS 13 but here we are.

+1

I'm in the same boat: regular mail that is giving me errors , many
I get the ghost of the email I deleted some time before, when I select a new one
"Account error"then I pull down and refresh and it gets new mail
Other times "updated just now" and it didn't because if I refresh there was mail , not just arrived but older emails
Select all to delete or to move : doesn't select all because after selecting, it deselects automatically one or two
DISASTER!!

Has anyone had luck working with Apple to resolve? I chatted with Apple support last night for approx 20 minutes and went through the whole “are you on the latest software” ,“have you removed and reinstalled?” “Have you tried to unpair and repair your watch?” Was then told to reset network settings, but warned doing that would reorder my app icons....that was the last straw for me. I wonder if Apple really even knows/agrees this is an issue?

Take forever for the mail app to mark read when I open an email. Very annoying.

I do have to delete items multiple times if I go from message to message without going back to the inbox.

I'm also struggling with this. Emails not downloading, spinning wheel, & Account Error. The only workaround I've found is to use the iOS Outlook App. Would much rather use the native app.

I’ll speak to Apple Support soon. I’ll be sure to post what they tell me. I have the issue where I have to manually download new mail I’ve been notified of.
Please ask if they're aware that some users are not getting any sound on notifications. That's in addition to the fact that many times there is no notification...

Well, I spoke too soon. Got back to my desk this afternoon and guess what? All emails I either deleted or marked as read on the phone were sitting in my inbox as unread in Outlook on my desktop! Ugh. I really was hoping that 13.2 b1 had some new fix for the native mail app I too much prefer to use Apples version, rather than Outlook. But I guess I have no choice right now but to use Outlook.....
