Still waiting for the US version but I wonder if I should write down my favorites? Do you lose them after an upgrade?

It's installing to my OS3.1 iPhone as I type this here in the UK - look forward to testing this in the morning :)

north america is out, search for navigon in the app store application on the iphone, you'll see it

1.2 just showed up for USA!!!

- Text-to-speech voice guidance
- Automatic Day/Night adjustment
- Integrated iPod Control
- Location sharing via Email

Downloading now!

Wow, it's like Christmas came early! iTunes 9, iPhone 3.1, AND Navigon 1.2! Gee... thanks Da.. I mean Apple!

Quite a day of releases...woohoo.

Tell me about it. Did a simulation and the tts is fantastic, should make quite a difference, the ipod integration works quite nicely as well, would be nice if we could browse artists and all in landscape mode but I guess you can't have everything.

The lady voice is different than before. I'm at home, but it spoke one street so far and it was very clear.

I should clarify, the TTS voice is different (kinda eastern states accent?). The non-TTS voice is the same as before.

Yeah, sounds kind of odd having the two different voices speaking in the same sentence.

I like the iPod control, but don't like how everything is the On-the-Go playlist form. For example, you can't just pick a playlist to play. You have to go into the playlist and select Add All Songs.

Navigon 1.2.0 now available in the App Store

Description for the update says it includes:
-Text-to-Speach voice guidance
-Automatic Day/Night adjustment
-Integrated iPod control
-Location sharing via email

I'm just grabbing it now. Sorry if this has been posted already - didn't see it.

JVB

I haven't upgraded my 3GS to 3.1 yet (still on 3.0 awaiting the JB). For me, running Backgrounder is the best way to also then control my music or XM app. Real fast and easy to switch back and forth between apps.

Yeah, I had that for a bit but then my iPhone kept crashing (that skull and crossbones background and then I'd find myself in Safe Mode). So that got old really, really quickly.

Plus with proper iPod controls in Navigon I'd have no reason to jailbreak.

The good thing about the in-app iPod controls so far is that I can now skip tracks in landscape. The regular iPod app has useless coverflow mode in landscape and you can't change the songs (annoying when my iPhone is mounted in landscape to the windshield for proper GPS reception.) So this is, at least, a step in the right direction.
