Putting the A10 in it is a disappointment. Plus, there’s a new bent/curved design.

Heh. My 3 year-old iPhone 7 Plus is happy to welcome his giant close cousin iPad into this world. Long live A10!

My wife wants a new iPad. The question now is if I wait for the next gen iPad Pro 11" (A12X?) with Smart Keyboard, and give her my existing iPad Pro 10.5" (A10X) with Smart Keyboard, or if I should just keep the iPad Pro 10.5 and get her the 10.2" iPad (A10) with Smart Keyboard. Let's see what the rest of the specs are. They aren't up yet at the online Apple Store.

She doesn't really care which iPad, as she just wants something to replace her old iPad Air 2 (which our kids now have) so it's really up to me on what to get. I do want to give her one with a Smart Keyboard. I believe he said it was a full size keyboard. Hope so.

Would people say the new 10.2 iPad is a definite upgrade over a Fire 10 tablet from 2017? The Fire tablet isn't bad but not always ideal for someone like myself who doesn't subscribe to a lot of Amazon services. The app selection is kinda weak too.

The length and width of the 7th generation iPad are exactly the same as the Air 3 and Pro 10.5, but it is 1.4mm thicker because it doesn't have the laminated display.

It uses the same Smart Keyboard as the Air 3 and Pro 10.5.

I am very excited about this - I can retire my iPad 2.
Wow. Still on the iPad 2! That's perseverance. Are you on iOS 9? Cuz iOS 9 is painfully slow on the iPad 2.

So $329 includes a keyboard?
Of course not.

Interesting.

Bigger bezels then.

The 2017 iPad is a better device than a 2017 Fire tablet 10 so I would have to say yes.

Doesn't seem like a worthwhile upgrade from the 6th generation iPad at all. The same A10 is the biggest letdown, if it were an A11 it would at least be something. That very slight increase in screen size alone is not enough. I didn't expect the unit to be physically bigger than the 6th gen either. Bezels could've been slimmer if they stuck to the same size.

Do we know if it comes with 2GB of RAM?
