Just got my 64GB ScanDisk SDXC (yes says sdxc on the package) From Amazon today, cost $218.99
Shows up in my 2.66ghz mac mini as 15mbps transfer SDXC card
Shows up in my 27"Imac 2.8 i5 Quad as 15mbps transfer SDHC card....

Honestly I think its a software issue.
It has let me transfer 50GB of .mkv files (blu rays) and it did it in about 15 min
from my Imac to my mac mini and so forth.

And to Boot.
I just installed 10.6.4 on it and it boots up, seems to run just as fast as the 5400rpm 320GB hard drive in the Mac mini.

You da man.

Awesome! Thank you. Do you by any chance have mbp or the previous generation iMacs? I am wondering if those machines will recognize SDXC cards. Thanks!

They recognize the SDXC card but it asks to reformat it and then only allows 2.5mbps transfer and will only show half of the memory.
So its pointless.

Intiall, you said it shows up as 15mbps..
but now you are saying it asks you to reformat?(which results in 2.5mbps..)

OMG this is so annoying, my 21.5 iMac i3 (just two days old) doesn't have the SDXC slot either, unless system profiler is lying to us all!!

Cmon guys, it's a $9 part (922-9500) if it's that important to you, pop off your screen and replace the current SD reader with the new one (it's just a USB device anyway). I plan on doing this to mine when I upgrade the video card to whatever's newest at the time (like the 1GB GDDR5 card right now) and replacing my superdrive with an SSD.

Yep, just find the appropriate part and partake in some manual labour to replace the card:
