Please let this madness end.
There seem to be a lot of people on this thread that don’t understand that it’s the Emoji Consortium, not Apple, that decides what new Emojis to add each year. Sure, Apple has an influence as a member of the consortium, but they are just one of dozens of companies involved.
So quit with your misinformed “Tim Cook SJW” crap. Whether you love or hate the current state of the emoji, Apple and Tim Cook are not the ones responsible for this.
If Apple spent 1% of the time and resources that they spend on these miserable emojis and dedicated it to squashing bugs in OS X and it's associated apps (FTFF, Preview etc.) the world would be a very much better place...
Go Bunnies!I’m in a mixed race marriage and have never even considered that I was being discriminated against until today. I’m now outraged this hasn’t happened before!!!
This "equality" garbage movement needs to end. People can do whatever they want just do it behind closed doors and don't talk about it.Wow, no gay deaf service dog emoji? Didn’t realize Apple was run by bigots.
“Gay” and “deaf” is hate speech vocabulary. Seems like you skipped your newspeak lessons.
Would you please point out in the article where it says that Tim Cook and/or Apple suggested these changes? The SJW CEO Tim Cook made a big mistake by bringing skin color into emojis. …
It’s disappointing and inappropriate that Tim Cook is using Apple to try and further his SJW agenda. If he is trying to lessen racism by doing so, he has failed and only served to increase it with the inclusion of race-conscious emojis.
Let’s just make an emoji for every single material thing and replace the English language![]()
Personally I think emojis are too hard to use, there’s so many that they’re hard to find and the problem is that the consortium keeps adding more and as they do people will demand more. Emojis should be simple human based ways to convey emotion in my opinion, preferably genderless but that’s hard to do without them looking male. I’m fine with the skin tone options as that’s more of a hidden feature of some sort and doesn’t get in the way of the picker.
Something needs to change in regards to the picker though
This isn't Apple but the unicode consortium? Don't people read before spouting off?If Apple spent 1% of the time and resources that they spend on these miserable emojis and dedicated it to squashing bugs in OS X and it's associated apps (FTFF, Preview etc.) the world would be a very much better place...
QFFT! You can guess what the second "F" stands for. There seem to be a lot of people on this thread that don’t understand that it’s the Emoji Consortium, not Apple, that decides what new Emojis to add each year. Exactly. We don't need every single combination imaginable. Just get rid of all of them and let us all be bright yellow and be done with it.Oh enough with race stuff now
The SJW CEO Tim Cook made a big mistake by bringing skin color into emojis. The original lemon-yellow emoji faces existed because no human has lemon-yellow skin, and thus all humans can be represented by lemon-yellow emojis in a neutral and non-racist way.
Including skin color in emojis just spreads this diseased practice of American race-consciousness all over the world.
Now, with these varied skin color emojis, people can use those emojis to make racist jokes and comments. Back when there were only lemon yellow-colored emoji faces, those lemon yellow-colored emoji faces couldn’t be used for racist jokes and comments.
It’s disappointing and inappropriate that Tim Cook is using Apple to try and further his SJW agenda. If he is trying to lessen racism by doing so, he has failed and only served to increase it with the inclusion of race-conscious emojis.
How are the words gay and deaf hate speech?
Unless you’re being sarcastic. I can’t tell anymore on here.
I'd like to see the Emoji Consortium take a break from adding new emojis and spend some time working with the big players (e.g. Apple, Samsung) on coming up with a more efficient way of categorising/accessing them.
