Maybe the name is Jason, maybe not.

Yeah right. The next 15" PowerBook will remain Titanium? And will only get Aluminum along with a update to the other PowerBooks in January 2004? what is he smoking? If this is true.....wow. How sad it would be for Apple to be selling an 867 MHz PowerBook in the first days of 2004. :(

There's a 17-inch widescreen Cinema Display in the works, near-term. And, right behind that is new 30-inch Cinema. Both of these continue the same styling we now have. And, there is zero product level activity taking place to change any of the displays.

This isn't even a rumor; it's jusy a made up story. There **are no** new display appearance redesigns cmoing anytime soon... at least until deep into 2004.

I'm a little confused.

You say your site is "just a hobby", you're just trying to have fun and see if you can predict the future of Apple hardware. OK, I guess I can dig that, although your stories are usually written in pretty absolute language, like they're the gospel truth or something.

But then you go and post something like this, where not only do you insult a competitor (and probably rightfully so), but you make more absolute declarations about the future. Which is it--a "real" rumor site (a la MacRumors and ThinkSecret), or "just a hobby"?

TIA

I think it could work

;)

This monitor is very innovative in the sense that it can be used in various places. If you look at the sides, you can see 3 holes. Those are used to adjust the monitor in 3 different configurations by using the base stand: one is the tabletop config (the one you see in the pics), 2nd is the wall hang, and lastly is the ceiling hang(like those mini LCD's you see on minivans). My friend has this particular monitor and he hangs it on the ceiling. Pretty cool. :)

This is complete nonsense.

Apple will not release ANY new designed products with clear acrylic parts anymore, the whole line of "pro" products will switch to aluminium like the PowerBooks, the G5, the new Pro Keyboard/Mouse and other peripherals that are coming (definitely in the near future: new displays, drives etc.), and in the "i" Line, white plastic and chrome/aluminium will continue to be used. The whole "translucent" look is disappearing, just like Aqua is now slowly transcending to "Metal".

My display pictures (the displays that are discussed here and in other forums as well as at www.looprumors.com) are at least something that is very possibly released by Apple (maybe without Handles and a different stand).

Yes, I did those Photoshop pics. So they are "fake".

Here again my "dream-lineup". A 30", a 23" and a 20". I'd like to have the 30" as my main monitor and the 20" for the palettes... ; )

ATI Press Release

Dont know if this is related but ATI just issued a press release for the 9800 Pro Mac Edition annoucing support for an adjustable display and VERSAVISION, whatever that is. See www.ati.com left hand side.

I dont know, maybe this is old news?

Ahaa, The new iMac G5!

it was just fun to make the display so i thougt it would be good to invent some absurd story like the one that started this thread :D

besides that: the new displays will be based on the imac screen. the transparent acrylic par will be replaced by a aluminium plate with the same thickness as the acrylic. this is just to make fit the isight on it. the white part of the imac screen will be solid aluminium and the transparent part will me a mesh aluminium. (i will make one ;) )

i will make another picture to show it. the design between professional and user is now very distinct:

chrome, shiny plastic, white, smooth = attractive, special, untouchable, enlighted, toy, fun, quality, heavenly.

half shiny, silver, rough = earthy, strong, hard, cold, touching.

so the pro line has really this "use me" touch so this is honest to the professional user. there is no need to make it look something that it isn't. the i-line is more like a toy and promizes to be something that it may isn't. but for the user that hasn't to much money it is a very satisfing design that makes him to feel like the owner of something unique.

the design of apple is very good and they really know what they are doing.

Hmm... wouldn't it be great if new Apple Displays – whenever they are coming – took advantage of this Versavision technology? It would be ESPECIALLY usefull for widescreen displays like Apple has made their "trademark" (although other companys have started to manufacture widescreen displays as well). Bring them on!!

20" is a fact!

I got some info from xxxx that the 20" display is on it's way and that it will have a very high resolution, since the new machine that is used to produce it is able to "write" the whole display in one go, which hasn't been possible before. The way it was used to be done was that a display was assembled by adding a number of 6" display parts in to a larger complete display. So now it's just up to Apple to release it to us.
