I rang again and spoke to a friendly representative who said they will arrive by the 27th but because I ordered more than one it may be delayed a bit more than other peoples which is not very good.

I didn't get my order in the night of the launch. It was the next day.

They also said it is not possible to collect them instore as the online order is not transferable.

I assume they are in stores now in the UK.

Updated to 'Origin Scan' being shipped from Concord, ON
Arrival has bumped from tomorrow to the 21st :(
Ya, mine has been sitting on "Departure Scan" from Concord since Friday...yet the estimated shipping date is tomorrow. I'm in Regina. We'll see...

I cant believe i was so excited for 1080p

I for one welcome this update.
Agreed that it is a tad underwhelming. But the 1080p upgrade does make a big difference as long as the Tv set, the atv is connected to, exceeds 50 inches.
On my 50 inch plasma (which is approximately 8 feet away), the icons are much sharper, the videos are also sharper. Agreed that the diff is not night and day but the extra resolution adds a punch.

Most of the features I am looking for (mainly better content organization and app support) is fixable via software update. I firmly believe that this new UI that has been introduced is a stepping stone to better things ahead (maybe an app store)

So which movie is in 1080p?

I have never bought anything from iTunes

And i had the atv2 for almost a year

But i would like to try the 1080p

I had purchased Gladiator from the iTunes store (in 720p) last year.
Now I have access to the 1080p version from iTunes.
Wow! I can see the difference. I am honestly shocked by how good the 1080p version looks in contrast to the earlier 720p one.
Impressed with apple's 1080p files. Sure they are not as good as blu ray. But they are pretty darn close (especially given that the files are literally 1/4th the size of a blu ray one)
