You also notice the way the power-cable arcs down exactly the same as in the picture for the ACD, also the reflection at the base is exactly the same as the ACD gallery photo. this isn't just fake it's extremely fake.

Absolutely right. They have just taken the stock ACD pictures from the Apple site and switched them around a little. Cable positioning on the second picture and grey shadowing under the first picture give it away totally.

Stop slagging off the bad Photoshop skills; give the guy a bit of credit for using the "Apple secret hardware 'elevator' shot" filter!!!:D

Fake. However, I would buy it if this were the real thing. I love the design of the cinema displays. I don't think Apple will re-use an old design, though. I think they will do something completely new and radical. :)

While these pictures are obviously fake, I could see them if Leopard is coming out in the very beggining of October, anouncing an iMac and delaying its shipping until Leopard is out, they have had almost that long of delays shipping new computers before, and if that was true it wouldn't make sense for them to use an OS that will not be on it to advertise it.

An miss out on all the kids heading off to college for the fall? Not likely.

Definitely ^_^ I agree.

That same exact original picture + some distort in photoshop to crate fake perspective + blur to conceal faults (like pattern repetition)

Both pictures line up perfectly.

In the "fake" picture, one can still see darker pixels along the edge where the ports were erased.

Supposedly, somebody this morning saw the next iMac posted in the Mac section of Apple.com. Apple would have, accidently, posted the icon of the next iMac.

Here is the screen of what it looked like :

I wholeheartedly believe that this is a fake leak, however, I do have one thing to point out.

You guys keep saying Apple wouldn't reuse an old design...but they've been doing that for years.

iMac G5 - Intel iMac: Same design
TiBook - AluBook - Macbook Pro: Same design
Powermac G5 - Mac Pro: Same design
G4 Mac Mini - Intel Mac Mini: Same design.

Apple has been using the same design for...what...3, and in the Pro notebook's case...6 years now? Why would they NOT put an iMac into an ACD's case?

hah hah! This just gets better and better! I'm loving it, all these creative ways of trying to fool everyone into thinking that they have seen the new iMac!

This one is particularly ridiculous! Apple have spent millions in R&D and in keeping the iMac top secret, then, just as Steve Jobs is about to announce to the world the most hotly anticipated Mac for a while, then some spotty teenager accidently ftps the new image early!! Hah hah, loving it!!!

For those of you who might find it useful:

It's not me who saw it. GO ON Mac4Ever and you'll see I ain't lying. I saw this pic on the website.

Sorry, dude, but that ain't a lie coming from me. I saw this pic on the website. Anyways...

Go on the website, you'll see for yourself.

Looks fake to me. Zoom on that image. All old product have compression artifacts around their edges. The new iMac doesn't. Plus, the new iMac's base doesn't look perfectly aligned with all the other computers.

It may be a fake, but I kinda like the look of the computer...! And as I said, I didn't do this, it's somebody else. It was found on a Mac website.

I was merely stating the current atmosphere around the release of the new iMacs!

When you compare the current image of the iMac with the one on that french site you just can conclude it is photoshopped. The shadow on the stand is missing or incorrect.

nicely done!

It's not peeing, that's the power cord! It's yellow so you know there's electricity going through it. It's clear when it's not plugged in.

It'll be funny if that is the actual iMac and Steve Jobs it took 6 months to create something like this.

Ok... let's think about this for a second...

Intel iMac was not a redesign. It was just a processor upgrade for the iMac line.
PowerBooks and MacBook Pros are still essentially the same product; they changed the name and put in a different processor.
Same goes for Mac Pro.
Mac Mini is not a redesign.

The point is not that Apple wouldn't KEEP the existing design and up the specs. The point is that if they redesign it, they won't redesign it to look like an old display.

The potential for customer confusion alone makes it a laughable idea.

stonewall fake

not only that, such a thin design would surely mean a switch entirely to laptop components

no chance you'd be able to fit a desktop hard drive in there!!!

Just for the sake of argument, just because it's Photoshopped doesn't mean it is fake. Apple also uses Photoshop.
