They're not gonna change the iMac or the iPods name. THey changed the Powerbook/Mac/iBook names because they wanted all of the mac products to have the word Mac in it, and the fact that they didn't have PowerPCs anymore.
They're definitely not going to change the iPods name, being as famous as it is. No one needs to know that Apple makes the iPod, they already do.

Because getting 99 fps really matters when you can barely see beyond 60 fps?

When you actually get into the more processor intensive parts of the game that make the fps drop down signifigantly then... yes.

Re new iMacs, I do wonder if the first rev were "rushed" to market in the current shell and that the new ones will actually have a slightly different form factor, allowing for better cooling for the intel chips and maybe some other features (Like a recessed remote, better internal access like the older G5s, high res screens etc).
