Did they do that with redesigned Mini? No. Did they do that with previous update which was fairly significant? No.

It looks like Apple is moving towards silent announcements in Macs because there is no MacWorld anymore

Well Said. We all know the iMac is due for an update and now is the time. They can continue their momentum going into the fall with Mac sales if a new iMac drops now - before school starts.

I am hoping that they update the GPU, processor and bring back the 24" form factor...but I doubt that last one will happen. I have been waiting since the spring to get the new iMac as the last one's quality issues kept me away. I will order mine the day it is released! :apple:

OMG, my head might explode if both StarCraft II and a new iMac come out tomorrow :p
(of course the new iMac wouldn't be available like SCII, but just the thought would most likely send me into cardiac arrest).

Interesting, hopefully it's true. Possibly redesigned iMac? We will see...

Gruber says it's a 27" 16:9 Cinema Display.

No...he says:

"We’ll have much to talk about, what with the new Mac Pros (finally, right?), speed-bump iMacs, and the gorgeous new 16:9 27-inch Cinema Display that Apple might hypothetically release tomorrow."

Clearly he leaves it open for any or all of the three items we have all been waiting for. Until tomorrow no one knows...unless they post pictures of release schedules, etc.

Does he really though? It seems like there are three options.

1) He's in the same boat as us, and is going off of the same rumors we are.

2) He has an inside source and is hinting that those products WILL be updated tomorrow.

3) He's way off and completely wrong.

Which option it is, I have no idea.

If the OP is genuine... then it seems like the 27 LED Cinema is what is kinda like an iMac, but not!

I really hope they release the new iMac though.....

the new mac mini came out on a midnight or early morning, no?

hopefully it could happen with this one as well :D

What else would it be?

Is it correct this Gruber guy is the guy who Apple 'leaks' info to in order to build up hype? A few people said this in the frontpage thread..

Interesting... It sounds like this Gruber guy is extremely well connected to Apple and building hype for their products. We'll all find out tomorrow...

There is a NEW product being launched tomorrow that is being described like an iMac but it isn't. I have a friend that works for a distributor and they just received it but as always it is covered and sealed.

How does your friend know theres an imac like product inside if its covered and sealed?

F*#&, I just bought a 27" iMac 2 weeks ago. Anybody know if I would be able to swap this with the newest one? If so, what are the chances I would be able to swap my hard drive in this one into the new one so I don't have to deal with transferring all of my data and programs.

You have 14 days to return the computer, but asking them to transfer data would be pushing it a bit.

Wouldn't I have to pay the restocking fee thought? It wouldn't be transferring the data if they just swapped the hard drives. Figures that this would come out right after I make the move to Mac, hahaha.
