Yes, I don't see any reason why this has to wait until iOS 13. Bug fixes and under-the-hood optimizations (which is what iOS 12 is supposedly focusing on) should encompass fixing broken notifications. No?
To be fair, having additional options isn't the same as fixing something that's broken.
 
The genius of Apple died when Steve died. I had hoped he would have had a master plan book but clearly not.
 
This is the first year that I'm not really excited about a new iOS update. Maybe a dark mode would be kinda exciting since I have an iPhone X? Refinement for speed and bug fixes isn't really exciting, it's more of a "Good job, you did the bare minimum required to maintain a modern operating system." Still good but it's like whatever. The things I'm looking forward to most are seeing what the Intel Coffee Lake 6-core iMac 5K is like and upgrading my Apple Watch Series 0 to a possibly redesigned Series 4.
 
How bout they give us an update that won't slow down our devices? Now that would be innovation!
