Yes, definitely exchange it at your local Apple Store.Hallo, i have some kind of backlight-bleeding on my new iPad Air. Its only on one single spot and only visible in the dark. Would you return it? Im not sure if a new device has a better screen ?
This behavior is typical of iPads (Pro and non)in general but a bit more prevalent over the last 3-4 generations. If it isn't visible when in normal use, especially watching movies with pillarbox/letterboxing, then I suggest keeping it.Hallo, i have some kind of backlight-bleeding on my new iPad Air. It’s visible when watching movies with letterboxing/pillarbox.I'm not sure I want to try this, but how do you do this? What is displayed on the screen to reveal this defect?

They might perhaps notice it later and wish they had exchanged when they could. If you’re happy with your device now and you need to look for this problem, is it worth it?

Mine is in the exact same spot and it’s unacceptable, I also have bad color shift on my screen. I am returning mine.I have this too but not sure if this is an acceptable level of leak.

Yes I use to return products over and over . if I could see the light bleed in normal use I would return but as u say if you need to go looking for it I just don’t see the point now.Fair enough. I’ve just seen my fair share of people on this forum get a bit too obsessive. I always say, if you look hard enough for a problem you’re going to find one. There have been stories here of people going through dozens of exchanges.
Keep in mind, these light bleeds can get worse over time. My dearly departed 2017 12.9 iPad Pro had none when I bought it, but over time it developed several spots like the one the OP posted. Started as one spot which then turned into about 10 over a few months. All along the same edge where the smart connector is. I’d take it back if that is how it came out of the box.
Absolutely. I’m definitely not denying that.Fair enough. I’ve just seen my fair share of people on this forum get a bit too obsessive. I always say, if you look hard enough for a problem you’re going to find one. There have been stories here of people going through dozens of exchanges.
