I’ll say this on every iPad post but the best iPad is the cheapest one, full stop. Until apple changes iPad OS to utilize the power of M chips (spoiler: they won’t), there’s no point in spending considerably more when you get 90ish percent of the iPad experience.
The Pros can be the outlier - they are more verstile by design, even if you do the minimum on them most of the time.

iPhone 15 Pro Max literally starts at a $100 higher price point compared to iPhone 14 Pro Max when it released.
In the states the iPhone Pro 15 w/256 GB storage is the same prices as the iPhone 14 Pro w/256 GB storage. So not every instance raised prices. Its up in the air whether OLED panels for iPads are that much more expensive give the quality and two suppliers Apple uses.

Business Korea reports that Apple placed orders for the development of 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch OLED panels from the two display companies, while rival Chinese display maker BOE lost out.

OLED iPad likely won’t be brighter, in fact, it might be dimmer.

M2 iPad Pro 12” does 1,600 nit HDR.

Best mainstream OLED that I’m aware of can do 1,300 nit HDR. Most OLED cap out at 1,000 nit. And these OLED numbers are typically for a small part of the screen like 5-10%. Where as the mini-led iPad Pro I believe can do 1,600 nit hdr across the entire display.

I sold my M1 12.9 before the holidays in anticipation. This should hold me over at least through this decade, barring any crazy advancements worth the cost.

Moving one of the two USB-C ports on the MacBook Air to the other side would be a welcome design tweak. Why oh why does Apple stick both USB-C ports on the same side?

I'm not sure what basic stuff you're doing on an iPad and then projecting on others, but even in my small work environment the developers that make the apps we use are begging for more power from the iPads.

Some, like iPhone 15 pro. No increase
Yes, and some did (namely the Pro Max).

While that's a positive way of looking at it, you obviously look at the entire package and the entire product. If you were looking for purely a 256 GB model, sure, nothing has changed. But the fact is that last year, you could get a 14 Pro Max-model for $100 less.

Food-for-thought-scenario: what if Apple introduces a 2 TB iPhone 15 Pro Max in the coming months for $4999. And than this fall, when iPhone 16 Pro Max is announced, the new iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at 2 TB for $4999. Surely, no one would argue that "there is no price increase" because "the 2 TB 15 Pro Max also starts at $4999"?

I’m really hoping with the rumored Air moving to 12.9” and the new larger sized iPad Pro being names the 13” that apple does what they did to the MacBook Air between M1 & M2 and increase the screen size to 13.6” or even 13.9”.

I have a growing use of Windows Remote Desktop to connect to my work PC. While it works great from my home office, I find my current M1 iPad too small for some of the in application icons and text. A larger screen would allow me to get rid/consolidate my 15” Windows Laptop and better utilize the iPad.

iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max already go up to 2000 nits.
