If I was a betting man, it would start at 64GB, skip 128GB, and only allow an upgrade to 256GB.
The objective is get buyers close enough to the price of a base model iPad Pro so customers fall into their pricing ladder strategy and purchase the Pro instead. This is how many people “justify” getting the 11” iPad Pro instead of a 10.x” iPad Air. Now they’ll have the same sales tactic with people going from an iPad Air 11.x” to the 12” Pro.
Sad, but I agree. I’m already thinking about that since I want more than 64GB in my next iPad.

No iPad Mini?!?!?
I’m about to give up on waiting for a mini. Are there any good alternative options that are similarly sized? I’ve not paid any attention to options outside the apple ecosystem… but I think it’s the time has come to do so.

So, obviously the new 13" iPad Pro won't fit any 12.9" Magic Keyboard? So another expense to consider.

I've made a similar posting before, so sorry about repeating myself, but as more information is leaked about prices, and specs I've got to share my increasing angst once again. ;)

As much as I love my iPad Pro M1 12.9", the projected prices with my usual memory and storage upgrades and cost of Magic Keyboard truly give me pause. You're talking to a guy that owned the first Mac, did the memory upgrade, and owned the Mac XL with memory upgrade for a heck of a lot of money. 😂🤣

Yes, yes, I know, I should ask myself do I really need the next iPad Pro. But I may just have to carry on with my M1 iPad Pro unless the next iPad Pro is truly fantastical, and there is a real iOS breakthrough that make it totally irresistible.

Anyone out there who owns an M1 iPad Pro that is already "all in" for the next iPad Pro?

Well I have both 11" and 12.9 M1's and was going to upgrade (probably the 11") but like you say, unless some real upgrades I may just stick. The 11" makes sense to me as I won't need to buy another keyboard, whereas if the large one is 13".....

Pick any upgrade for Apple and shop for the same at retail.
That's just not a very good way to price a computer.

Most of the cost of buying a Mac is going to support the corporate infrastructure, the life-cycle support, and continual developments.

Parts costs are not, and never have been, a way to measure a business.

That is why all those popular break-down articles on how such-and-such device should be cheaper... are just wrong.

And BTW, almost nobody is going to buy an internal 8TB SSD with their Mac Studio. The people who do know that they need it (because the internal speed is much faster than even TB.) So whining about 8TB costs is just silly.

Mac Studio is only halfway through its lifecycle, if we compare to the M1 to M2 lifetime, so I'd guess you won't hear more until WWDC in June.
Sadly, I think you are right, but I really want to see M3 Ultra stuff as I am still using the M1 Ultra Studio.

Also, I would like to respond to the quote in your sig:
"There's no bigot like a religious bigot and there's no religion more fanatical than that espoused by Macintosh zealots." ~Martin Veitch, IT Week [31-01-2003]
