Please do! And enjoy that mini, very jealous til I can order mine next week!

Well, another update. After putting away my screw drivers, I went to pack away the Apple - Toshiba hard drive, and noticed there were some Torx screws on the side of the hard drive! D'oh! So I had to take apart the mini again just now to put them on the Seagate, lol!

Whole procedure took me less than 10 minutes. Just make sure you lift those motherboard connectors up. They snap in/out pretty easily.

Fan speed stuck at 5500 RPM

thanks everyone for the info.

I've swapped drives back and forth about 5 times now and it's easy after the first time.

One small issue. Even though all my temp sensors are back in place, and temps are very low, my fan is spinning at 5500 RPM all the time. I wonder what went wrong. Even with the default parts back in, I'm still getting 5500RPM, CPU temp of 26C. Wires in place exactly as they were.

Very odd.

If you're sure that you got everything put back properly, give this a try:

Speaking of hard drives, I'm about to get this new mini for my bd and use it as a media centre for bedroom/living room, so I need to buy a 1+ tb external hard drive. But I was thinking about just getting a time capsule and use it as a wireless hard drive for all my devices at home.

What is the speed difference between the time capsule and an external hard rive plugged Into a Mac via USB 2.0? By speed I mean the speed for reading files, dropping files into the hard rive etc.
