Hey all. I thought I'd notify the macrumors community that I've completed a BETA release of iFlix, my Netflix queue manager for the iPhone. For those who get the concept of SFTP os SCP, please check it out here: New version of iflix: http://iflix-iphone.googlecode.com/files/iFlix v0.9.6(BETA).zip

For those not so comfortable with SFTP or SCP, it should be on Installer.app soon. Enjoy. And PLEASE feel free to tell me about any bugs on the google code page.

P.S. 500th post!!!

EDIT: New version (0.9.6 Beta) is out:
Hey All. This is just a bump to let everyone know that the latest version of iFlix has been released.

This version fixes search and the At Home screen.

Not a lot of iphone-owning, macrumors-forums-commenting, Netflix users I guess. Well, I've submitted it for packaging on Installer.app, so you should see it there soon.

For now, there is a new version with a couple improvements (error message pops up if you try to log in with bad account info, changed "Done" button to "X" when searching (it's a cancel button, and "Done" was confusing):

Great work on this. I just installed it and it works great. Looking forward to future enhancements as you continue development. Great job again!

well i installed it (under 1.1.1 firmware - jailbroken only) but was not able to successfully run the app. the app automagically quits after trying to open it. this may not be due to your app since this happens to all other apps ... :(

Really fantastic app, haven't had a crash yet which is amazing for a new release. Can't wait to see it progress. thanks for this!

Love the app! But I noticed when I add movies to my queue, they did not show up on the queue. I logged in on my Mac and the movie did not make it to the queue. I then installed the BSD Subsystem on my iPhone, and it started to work properly. Keep up the great work, I can see myself using this app daily!

EDIT: P.S. Two features that would make this app even better: Move to the top of queue option, and availability status (now, short wait, long wait, etc). Thanks again.

Wow. Great response, thanks guys. As others mentioned, is is on Installer.app now.

A quick note: if you update something with iFlix, your account on Netflix.com will show that change as soon as you log out and log back in. This is an error in the way they programmed Netflix.com, so I can't do anything about it.

Skystar, are you saying this somehow relies on BSD subsystem? Interesting, I'll have to look into it. Also, I'll try to see if there's any way to implement the availability status thing. I'm not sure it's on the RSS feed netflix makes, so that may be difficult.

Firmware 1.1.1, BSD Installed

Movies I add don't show up on the queue, it doesn't matter if I sign off the phone and in on the mac they aren't added to the list.

Interesting. Could you be a bit more specific? The movies don't show up at the end of your queue in iFlix? There may be something about Netflix settings that could block you. However, I've never heard of anyone having that problem, so I'm not sure how to help. Is there any chance the network you're connected on may be blocking the requests somehow?

BTW, what I was talking about for seeing the changes was ONLY on Netflix.com. You have to explicitly sign out there because of the way they manage sessions and queue updates. (But from what it sounds like, you are logged off on the computer too, so I don't know if this will help you).

So check this out, adding the movie from the movie detail page didn't work, but when you tap add from a list page, like "New" for example, it adds to the queue.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Great find. Thanks for the details. I'll have this fixed by the weekend.

Thank you sir! That's why I haven't been able to add movies! It would be nice if the add feature would work in the detail page, but for now I can at least work around this. Great APP!!

Netflix blows but I bet your app kicks ass and 500th post? umm k. ;) Thanks for contributing to the 3rd party application development for the iPhone. :D:D:D:D

Great news. With the info you gave me, I was able to quickly knock this one down. The fix will be out in the next release, which I'll try to rush, given the magnitude of the bug.

Please, keep the ideas and bugs coming, and what would be most helpful is if you can fill out a detailed issue report on the google code page. This thread is much harder to keep up with for bug fixes and feature requests.

Thanks for your patience as I get this thing out of beta.

You might want to add the ability to edit your account profile, also there is inconsistency with selecting items. You have to tap the blue > when getting movie info, but you can tap anywhere to sign in with your account.

It's by design. Because you have to scroll the movie lists a lot, I wanted to help you avoid accidentally going into the description view. However, on the accounts list, I figure most people will only have one anyway, so why not make it easy for you to log in.

Well done! This actually got me started on Netflix again. Well orchestrated and clean interface.

What's the logistics of integrating recommendations?

REALLY easy. But I need to either remove another category or make some sort of "more" list thing like Apple does. I don't like "At Home" very much, so I might just kill that.
