Oh yes, Nike has limited releases all the time. People are literally murdered over them:

Anyway, I managed to order a 42mm orbit blue band despite Nike's dumpster fire of a web site. It actually shipped via UPS from Tennessee today, so I imagine I'll have it Monday or Tuesday.
Hey that's great! I hope you enjoy your new band. I ordered a black and yellow knock off from Amazon to see what they're like.
Oh I've heard of people robbed and killed for their shoes. I didn't realize it was because the shoes were hard to get, I always assumed it was because they were expensive and it was a sort of territorial thing, with thugs asserting you better not own something better than they had. That was the way it was when I lived among them.
Most of my life growing up, paying $30 for shoes was almost scandalous unless you were an office worker and had to "dress for success, then you might pay $90. Lol. That is the most my dad could ever bring himself to pay even now.
Even in the 80's and the era of designer clothes, obsessing over brands was something only the drug dealers who took over our neighborhood did. We ordinary folks didn't want to attract their notice so we ran around looking as poor as we were.
My husband grew up in a better area a few miles away so he always had brand names. He has always dressed nice and had nice professional haircuts. I have always cut my own hair and look like I dress out of a donation bag. People probably can't believe we live in the same house.
The funny thing is I know some millionaires and even a couple of billionaires now. One of the billionaires looks like he dresses out of the same donation bag I do. He would not know a thing about these Nikes either.
I've found out a lot of people who actually earned amazing amounts of money don't spend it on stuff you can see or even fancy homes. Basically they don't spend to impress. They spend it on friends and food and hobbies and actually do a lot for charity. The few nice things they do buy, they buy because they really like whatever it is, not to show off.
The kinds of people who shoot people over merchandise are just pathetic slaves to pop culture ideals and don't have any true sense of self and their own genuine likes and dislikes whatsoever.
