If you feel it was highway robbery, you shouldn’t have bought it. Griping after the fact renders your point rather meaningless, seeing how the item is an accessory you wanted and didn’t need.I went to store buy new apple watch. I usually wear sport loop or woven nylon bands. Don't like sport bands. Decided to try braided solo loop. At store they one time use measuring kits, and my measurement was almost 10. They brought size 10 and 9 bands to try. Size 10 was bit loose and 9 nine was perfect, but little tighter. Decided to to buy size 9. After few hours of wearing it I have to say I made right choice. So in my case going with 1 size smaller was right decision. Based on some other replies, it looks that other experienced same. So it might be good ideas to go one size smaller then actual measurement using apple tool. On other hand, it is most comfortable band I ever had. Only negative thing that I can say about it is price. It is highway robbery at $100.

And it looks that Apple store employees might be aware of the sizing issue, since she brought size that should fit based on measurement and another one that was size zmaller On other hand, it is most comfortable band I ever had. I just picked up a Space Gray Aluminum with Black Solo loop. The measurement showed that my wrist is in the middle of size 8. It was however, way to big, when I get it. I think I should've been size 7 if not 6.
Problem is I can't return/exchange just the band. Since it's a kit, I need to return the watch as well and the watch now is sold out until early October. Not happy ...
Buy the band you want separately and sell the one that came with the watch.I just picked up a Space Gray Aluminum with Black Solo loop. The measurement showed that my wrist is in the middle of size 8. It was however, way to big, when I get it. I think I should've been size 7 if not 6.

Since when we cannot complain about prices?. When I was buying it I knew that the band is overpriced for what it is. And you should have noticed that I have listed pros and cons, with pros being ultra comfortable for me and con it being too expensive for what it is. I think it is valid gripe. If you feel it was highway robbery, you shouldn’t have bought it. The time to gripe is before you buy. If you hate the price that much, you shouldn’t have bought it. You didn’t have to buy the band. You bought it because you wanted it even paying $100 for it. Your argument about price was rendered moot as soon as you made the unnecessary purchase out of want. That is the ugly truth.Since when we cannot complain about prices?. I’d personally like to hear the griping of someone who actually has had it or handled it at the store and can fairly assess if the materials and construction and feel are worth what the price. Someone who actually shelled out for the product has the best basis to judge whether or not they felt they got their money’s worth. You can actually exchange the band (that came with the watch) at the Apple store. I did exactly this. On paper they have to "return" the entire watch plus band, but I walked out with the exact same watch I bought, plus a different band, for no extra charge.
This is super unfortunate for those of us in locations with closed stores; I just checked and the nearest store thats actually open is roughly a 4 hour drive one-way. Its even more frustrating since Apple's own measurement print-out seems to be flat out wrong; I ordered my watch with a size 10 Inverness Green braided solo as that's what the printout said, then my wife ordered a standalone Pink Punch braided solo in size 9 based off the print out. Her band arrives and turns out the size 9 is a little loose on me and just slides all over her wrist, so we kicked off a return on the pink band and now I'm just waiting for my watch to arrive with the wrong size.
From what I've been seeing across the web, the consensus seems to be that its roughly 2 sizes off; e.g. if you measure at a 9, you probably need a 7, which makes the mis-sizing even more noticeable than if it was just a single one off.I ordered a 9 and it was way to big... went to the apple store to exchange it for an 8. Lucky it was an easy swap and they had it. I got home and tried it on my S4... still find it too big....
tempted to go back and just get a normal sport band.
so basically i take another $580.00 hit for 2-3 days before the refund gets put back on. I think that is BS that i have to be without $580 for 3 days just to get a different size band when THEIR sizing was wrong. I get that this is a new product so they dont have an exchange program in place but really, the bands are packaged seperate and you sell the bands separate as well. I have a feeling all the pre orders or online orders who didnt go in to get sizing will be in trouble...... So not happy about this part.
If you havent purchased yet go on and try on if you can, if not. whatever band it says to get, get one size smaller.
I bought, received and returned the braided loop so I can confirm both that I definitely had a 44mm band on a 44mm Watch and that the transition to the Watch on my braided loop was terrible. Here's a composite of Apple's rendering vs a detail of another userss Watch (much better than my crappy photo). Not the gap on the ends of the user's Watch where the braided loop lug is not long enough. (The user photo also shows the metal lug showing which is another issue).- the Braided loop doesn't look great around the connectors but I think some of the pics are of 40mm braided solo loops on 44mm watches. the employee didn't seem to be too knowledgable about bands and was handing me wrong size stuff at first.
yes, that is BS! sloppy!
if I was in this situation, I'd be pissed.
the watch and the band should be 2 separate transactions.
they need to fix the sizing.
and/or THEY SHOULD GIVE A WARNING NOT TO PICK ONE OF THESE NEW BANDS WITH A WATCH.
Maybe it’s just me but I think I could live with that gap. It doesn’t look that bad to me.I bought, received and returned the braided loop so I can confirm both that I definitely had a 44mm band on a 44mm Watch and that the transition to the Watch on my braided loop was terrible. The materials and fit were terrific but I couldn't live with the gap.

That's great if you can! The material is wonderful and it's very comfortable. But I found it ugly--especially on my aluminum Watch. I expect better build quality than this from Apple.Maybe it’s just me but I think I could live with that gap. It doesn’t look that bad to me.
Being an OCD person, I could never live with that.I bought, received and returned the braided loop so I can confirm both that I definitely had a 44mm band on a 44mm Watch and that the transition to the Watch on my braided loop was terrible.
