Maybe it’s just me but I think I could live with that gap. It doesn’t look that bad to me.

no you wouldn’t, as soon as I got my arm sweaty it was falling all over my wrist, turning upside down. It was horrible to be active with. Cause I had one size to big too.

I bought, received and returned the braided loop so I can confirm both that I definitely had a 44mm band on a 44mm Watch and that the transition to the Watch on my braided loop was terrible. Here's a composite of Apple's rendering vs a detail of another userss Watch (much better than my crappy photo). Not the gap on the ends of the user's Watch where the braided loop lug is not long enough. (The user photo also shows the metal lug showing which is another issue).

The materials and fit were terrific but I couldn't live with the gap.

Isn’t that a Series 3 watch? I can tell by the solid red crown of the S3. It says on Apple web site that the braided and solo loop bands are only compatible with series 4 and above I’m pretty sure.

No, my Watch is a Series 5, 44 mm. Same gap as pictured though. And the Apple site says the 44 mm braided loop is compatible with any 44 mm Watch.

In your case yeah. But just to be clear, the pic you are showing is of a guy trying to put it on a Series 3 which is not compatible.
Sorry you are having a similar problem though. That sucks.

When I measured I was on just above the 11 line. Received the 11 (sport loop) and it feels comfortable and doesn’t move when I shake my arm. The readers (O2, etc) are working as well so I’m assuming it’s good.

Apple's size guide put me at 11. Loop and Braided Loop arrived today. They are way too big, and I like it loose. Think I'm not going to be able to order these until I've tried a range of sizes in-store, sadly.

I just went through this in the store. the measurement guide that apple provides in the store and the cutout are the same size. for both mine came out right in between 8 and 9

for both the bands I actually tried them all in the store and my size is size 7, so for a good fit in my experience the guide is 1.5 sizes too big

the size 8 was very loose and size 9 was just huge. 7 is perfect

UPDATE: Popped to the nearest Apple Store. I am between a size 8 and size 9. Luckily they had a couple of colours of size 9 in stock.

So, if you use the M/L Sport Band on the middle size option, you’ll probably like a size 8 if you like a firmer fit, or a size 9 if you like a looser fit.

Why Apple didn’t just do a Sport Band to Solo Loop conversion chart is beyond me...

My experience: I picked up my S6 watch in-store last week (Menlo Park). I had used the on-line guide to size the band (solo loop) before ordering. The band was slightly loose, so I went back to the store today to do a band exchange for one one size smaller. They had to do a complete refund of the original purchase then re-bill me for a “new“ one with the correct size. The watch itself never left my hands, but I did have to unpair it so they could process the refund. The whole thing took about 15 minutes but I walked away with the same watch and a better fitting band.
Of course this only works if you have an Apple store nearby.

I don't know if this is accurate:

yep or just put the ban length on the box or size chart. Instead they want the sizing to be a mystery lol.

From what I've seen in videos and pictures around, sometimes the apple store sizing guide is shorter than the printed cut out.

Can people just measure the length of the bands please.

Just been to the Apple store and they have a special sealed plastic sizing tool that they give you to test your sizing

I ordered a braided loop in size 5 online last week but it turns out I’m a size 4 in both solo silicone and braided loop.

Apple’s plastic sizing tool seems to be the same as the online printable tool. But the material is different and easier to wrap around the wrist. Which is probably why a size 4 fit me better.

I don't think that is accurate. At least by my measurement, it is misleading to suggest that the sport band holes line up exactly with the measuring tool. They are close, but they do not line up exactly. The spacing on the solo loop sizing tool varies, so the distance between the line of 1 and 2 is less than between 11 and 12. If you flip around one of your measuring tools, so match 1 with 12, I think we will be able to see that easily. Using my caliper (to lazy to print another tool and take the pic), there is a difference of half of size if I compare the first four sizes (1-4) to the last four sizes (8-12).

I also think Daring Fireball has the bands lined up wrong, and so size 8 matches the 2nd smallest pin hole on the M/L band (not the 3rd). The M/L and S/M do not line up either, so the S/M is half a pin hole smaller, but the corresponding pin hole on the S/M to Size 8 would be the 5th largest, not the 6th.

Just to confirm, here is picture of the printed sizing tool facing in opposite directions. It is clear that the spacing of the solo loop sizing is not equal, and there is a smaller difference in sizes for the smaller loops. The holes on the sports band are spaced exactly the same (6.7 mm on center to me) on both the M/L and S/M bands. I have the 42/44 watch if the bands are different on the smaller option. the handwritten numbers were my guess at the rough equivalent sport band size per solo loop size (for the M/L band). I think the S/M holes are a half size smaller, so I don't think S/M hole 7 = M/L hole 4; its more like 3.5. For comparing to the sport band, I think you want the sport band to fit tightly, so compare that tight fit with the solo loop size.

How tight are you guys wearing your solo loops?

Does your solo loop slide up and down your wrist and you raise and put down your arm?

A size 4 doesn’t move but a size 5 moves up and down.

Can confirm that the S/M Last hole 3 = Size 7 - BUT I don't like the Solo loop, while very light and comfy, it was sweaty under the band. No thank you

I measure size 12, ordered it. Too large, probably 10 or 11 will fit better. Bottom line, whatever size you measure, choose a smaller one. The solo loop runs big.

I measured a 6. Got a 6 from FedEx today and it is perfect! Slightly snug actually. Go figure! The 5 would be uncomfortably tight on me.

Recieved my Graphite Braided Loop a few days ago and had to send it back. I measured a 7 on the tool and it was way too loose.
