That's pretty much put the nail in the coffin on that one!

That's a shame, i would have been interested in an iMac 30!

Rich.

Yeh... maybe.

If he was going to photoshop anything... I think a web address into a browser would have been absolutely minimal.

This isn't just a fake.. its a very lazy fake.

wait a minute... just because it CAN be faked doesn't mean it HAS been faked, you know... Plently of other screenshots from the Apple site have later turned out to be genuine (iWeb, PowerMac G5), and they could have been faked jsut as easily by exactly the same method.

I don't see why this MUST be fake, just because it COULD be fake

Yeah, valid point.

I think we're just making sure we don't get our hopes up.

On my screen the link to the imac is a powermac sitting next to an ACD. How is this an imac?

That pic is just next to the collection of links for Apple's desktops and displays - like this English one - as opposed to portables and "digital life" (meaning iPods).

it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a 30in imac. the 30 could represent apple's 30th bday

This was my interpretation of the link as well...guess that we might find out tomorrow (hopefully :) ).

I would expect the 30 to refer to the anniversary - though it could refer to both of course! I've just been amusing myself imagining what a 30th Anniversary iMac might be to distinguish itself from the current iMacs.

Any thoughts?

Notice there is no mention of the iMac 20"....just the "iMac" and "iMac 30"....assuming that iMac stands for iMac 17", could iMac 30 just be a typo when they meant iMac 20?

Not really...here is the actual page. "iMac" is a single topic covering both the 17" and 20" models.

You say that, but as someone else in this thread already mentioned, days before MWSF this January, a similar page was spotted on the Apple website mentioning iWeb (which like this one disappeared shortly afterwards) and sure enough....

And that easily could have been a Photoshop fix.

I DO say that. And I also say Keep Dreaming if you think this is real.

I just don't see there being a market for a 30" iMac...it's too small to put in a living room, and too expensive for a consumer PC. It just seems like a solution for a problem that doesn't exist. Who knows...maybe it is real and Apple knows something I don't (which of course is quite possible).

it doesn't necessarily has to be an 30" model, it could be a 30th anniversary iMac!

hoping it's real!

My point is that I'm not surprised the page no longer displays the link. As with the iWeb case, it was quickly spotted and removed by Apple.

I never said it was real, though I suspect it is.

The difference is that lots of people saw and confirmed the iWeb thing. So far, there appears to be exactly one reported sighting of this "iMac 30".

maybe because this one was only on the belgium site, so a lot less people visit that site. The iWeb thing was on the us one too wasn't it?

Yup, it could mean 30th anniversary...I was just commenting on the 30" speculation...

Yeah, that's a real tough one to fake...

Apple made the TAM

the anniversary products have never been built around their ease or lack thereof to be distributed widely, its always over the top and extra...
