You do not even have to fake the text in photo shop, just edit the HTML & with a few copy pastes...

It would be nice if that support page had a last modified date, but since it is dynamically generated... All cache copies on google, yahoo and MSN show no 30" model... but they do span over 1 weeks time.

So then, the question is. Where is the copy for all the international apple sites published from? If it is in the same system, does the copy editor/manager have the ability to mark the product 'live' for sale in individual markets? What are the chances that any new product data was made live by a writers or editor on accident? It all depends on how many people have the rights to publish those changes and where the mistake could be made.

Somehow I do think that a faker would have gone to slightly more effort, but I can see why people keep going on about it being fake. I remember seeing a MacWorld cover with a mockup of a black iMac and it looked soooooo sweet!

I think that a TBiM (Thirtieth Birthday iMac) would be great, particularly if it had a brand new form factor. I don't actually think this is too far fetched.

What would be even cooler (though maybe more unlikely) is if they made available updated versions of all the best machines from apple's history. How amazing would it be to have a Core Duo system the same shape as a Macintosh 128k, but with a 15" Monitor, a 250Gb HDD and a SuperDrive instead of a floppy drive... or a Cube with all the latest specs. Maybe even a table lamp iMac. An Indigo iBook! An Apple II! A Lisa! A Powerbook 170 (with trackball!) AN eMATE!!!!! All, of course, available with inbuilt Airport, Bluetooth, USB and FireWire, Mac OS X 10.6 Leopard and iLife '06, Shipping alongside Windows Vista sometime in 2007 (hopefully)

I'm sorry I've been quite nostalgic recently and have begun to long for playing Beyond Dark Castle and Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego and making those model train sets on HyperCard... Ahhh the joys of childhood.

listen, im a ppc hanger-onner too, but apple has switchd to intel. no more Gwhatevers. a G5 is too big and hot for a laptop anyway. the poor thing would burn up

No chance of a 30" iMac imo... Price for a 20" in Canada is 1999... I'm guessing a 30" would have to be like 4k

you guys can't be this desperate for a new computer. so apple is just gonna stealth release a 30-anniversay imac? or a redesigned core duo ibook?

mmmm, i don't think so.

nothing's gonna be released for a while. apple will introduce new hardware with the proper fanfare. there'll be a special event. media will get invites at least a week or two in advance. and we'll be left to speculating on what. and when the time comes, steve will do his big act. that's how it works. that's how it's always worked.

Anyone think that this could mean imac 3.0? I mean it is a French site and maybe they are refering to the intels as 3.0 machines. (I think that would mean it is a rev C being that "c" is the intel revision).

I don't know just a stupid thought.

Apple made the TAM

the anniversary products have never been built around their ease or lack thereof to be distributed widely, its always over the top and extra...
Isn't "always" a bit broad for something that was only done once? Apple "special edition" computers, when they have been done at all, have normally been little (or nothing) more than badge jobs -- some IIGS machines with "Woz" printed on them, engraved iPods, that kind of thing.

or a regular (crt) imac but with double the ram and a graphite enclosure instead of the 5 flavors, etc.

edit: arrg I keep forgetting to update my sig, 1.83 core duo 17" imac. Talk about an upgrade!

I'd buy one as long as someone else carried it up the stairs for me. The 20" is heavy enough thanks ;)

I'm not sure what to make of this. As Glenn said, it makes sense they would make an iMac 30. But as some others said, the HTML could have EASILY been edited. However, this was the case with both the PowerMac G5 and iWeb and both of those were true. So, who knows? All I know is that I would adore a 30" iMac being that the 30" ACD are BEAUTIFUL! :D But it would probably run for about $2999.

30 inch iMac? Don't even joke about it...If anything it would go to 23 inches and that would be a HUGE upgrade.

WHAT IF (in my wildest dreams) Apple released a 30 inch iMac for the 30th anniversary?
