Hmmm...all sound ok except for the video card. That's one of those features that is really reserved for the pro models. Apple has made a point of giving the mbps much better video cards. Bring the models too close together, and mbp sales will plummet.
I haven't said anything about a video card...:p

But what do you think is the chance for an (even small) hardware update in Novembre? Could it be that they just introduce Leopard and leave the hardware specs just like they are now?

Sorry, I meant GPU:p (That's what I get for trying to type when I'm hungry).

The hardware update won't come with Leopard. However, an update sometime in late October-mid November is very likely (almostl like clockwork). My bet is November 13th (random, but it is the middle Tuesday of November).

They sure didn't waste any time adopting the Core Duo.

The Core Duo was one of the rare exceptions, and even it wasn't across the entire Mac line. iMacs and MBPs saw updates, but iBooks, PowerMacs, and Minis were left behind for a bit longer (in the case of the Mini, it took more than one month before the Mini was given a Core SOLO, and the PowerMac didn't get Intel chips until 2006 was two-thirds over).

My point is that Intel's road map gives us a rough idea of where Apple's computers are going, not an exact timeline. It's reasonable to expect a little delay (a month, perhaps more) in Apple's uptake of Intel's latest and greatest.

But that's almost simultaniously with Leopard. You think they will introduce two "new" MacBooks in one month?

Hmmmm i suggest for those who wanna change it.. do it now=) no point waiting actually. technology changes every 6 mths... how are u going to catch up right? i see no reason waiting unless you r not in a urgent of getting one. If that is the case, i am sure u will can wait and get a better one..:)

Yes, it's not urgent for me, and I'll wait until the first next hardware upgrade. But these MacBooks are so beautiful, I can't wait! If it will be later then Novembre I would kill myself...:p

A new height in AppleLust. Suicide. I can just see the headlines at CNET now...

Two weeks is a long time in the computer world. They are not almost at the same time. Also, Apple rarely updates two products at the same time, how else could they maximize buzz?

I haven't heard any murmurs yet regarding any updates so I guess we just have to be wait.

i agree

I would be surprised if the MB did not see another update before Christmas. Look at last year's updates - May and November (six months). This year appears to be on the same track as we've already had the May update. With Leopard due in October and LED displays/SR chips becoming the new standard, an update to the MB just makes cent$ (holiday sales will be huge).

I'm holding out for a Thanksgiving to remember, with a new MacBook loaded with Leopard, LED display and improved graphics.

It will be hard to wait, but worth it IMO.

i totally agree with your standings, better graphics, LED, and leopard before xmas, yea then my life would be fulfilled lol!! :p:p:p
