I don't recommend letting kids with glue use your nexus 4. Cause then you won't have one to use. View attachment 421231

Hey i just got my Nexus 4 two days ago and was wondering a few things that may seem obvious but this is my first android device so anyway ..

I noticed that it occasionaly does not charge like it says 100% charged unless i unplug it two or three times and than it shows the actual percentage which was around 23 %.

Speaking of charging, is it supposed to take over 4 hours to get from 30 % to 100 %? seems quite long to be honest. Did i get a bad device?

--
Is there a way to put the quick settings right into the "notification center" instead of having to click the icon in the top right first? Ive seen it on other android devices like that.

--

Can I use a different wallpaper for the lockscreen because it seems to change it for the homescreen as well as the lockscreen when i set the wallpaper with no chance to pick it seperately.

--

I already came across what seems to be a bug as well, ive put some images using data transfer on my picture folder and they were on the Nexus but suddenly when i opened the gallery again, they all dissapeared except for one and the one that was left i actually couldnt delete. Few tries later all the pics were suddenly back and the one i failed to delete was gone

thx

1) Weird....I would say thats not normal.

2) I disliked this about the Nexus 4 (and other androids) that it takes a long time to charge. OR....I just got use to the 1-1.5 hour full charge of the iPhone 5:)

3) Anything is possible on android ;)

4) Hmmmmm good question....maybe somebody with more knowledge can chime in.

5) Dont know.....

Am I the only one that is experiencing some issues with call quality.... the line isn't clear anyone else having the same issue? T-Mobile.. it sounded much clearer using an iPhone..

That's simply because the iPhone has a puny ~1400 mAh battery and all major Android phones now have 2000+ mAh batteries. The GS4 for example has 2600, close to double. So of course it will take longer to charge.

Lately I've been noticing after answering a phone call it takes an excruciatingly long time to connect. Long enough that I think the other line is dead and I hang up on someone by mistake. It's getting frustrating and embarrassing taking a call from work and waiting and waiting and waiting, hanging up, or saying "hello?" 19 times. Not sure if its my phone or my carrier.

Has anyone used juicedenfer for the nexus 4? Just wanted to see if it worked and how you liked it.

I used it for a couple days. All it does it turn of mobile data for you as opposed to you using a toggle. No major battery savings.

1. Not sure. That's never happened to me. Maybe just try hard-resetting the phone.

2. The slow charging has never bothered me, but I suppose it is a little slower than some phones I've had in the past.

3. If you want to access quick settings right away, just swipe down with two fingers instead of one. Alternatively you can search the Play Store for an app like Power Toggles that will actually add toggles into your regular notification shade. There are plenty of different apps that do this most of which are highly customisable.

4. Stock open-source Android doesn't have separate lockscreen wallpapers (though that may change in 5.0 this October). Other ROMs do, or, you can install a Lockscreen replacement app like WidgetLocker which not only gives you separate wallpapers but basically allows you customise your lockscreen completely and wholly. You can have custom widgets, icons, shortcuts, custom sliders, etc. Same goes for your homescreen if you use a custom launcher.

5. I'm not sure how you transferred them over, but if you want them to show up in your Gallery app be sure you're making folders either in the "DCIM" folder or the "Pictures" folder. Also make sure you're in PTP USB mode, not MTP. It could also just be a simple issue of having to close the Gallery app in the multitask bar and re-opening it.

Yup! I went through multiple Nexus 4s a while back because of this. People on the other end said I was extremely choppy. I am on Tmobile and it wasn't the service cause prior to the N4, my iPhone didn't have any issues and now currently my HTC One doesn't have any issues -- both clear as day on the other end.

Something is/was off about the N4's microphone or transmitter or whatever it was. Even when I called Google about replacements, it wasn't very hard to convince them as they heard the choppiness themselves right away. Went through three Nexus 4's, I believe, before I gave up and abandoned ship. Now, I'm very wary of all LG devices.

Sad to hear it's still a problem.

I've had my original N4 since February and never noticed this although I have heard of it.

I am sure this has been covered before, but I have noticed that my nexus 4 has big battery drains on cellular data. When I am connected to WiFi it is pretty good. I am on Att if that matters. What could be causing it to drain so much faster on mobile data than WiFi? Like today my phone was at 71% battery, and I left the phone idle for an hour, and it had drained to something like 67%. Just seems like a lot of battery drain for a short period of time.

Give it a little bit, everyone in the States just came off a holiday. There may have been a good amount of orders over the weekend that they are still trying to get thru.

I can tell you though, at least for the 2 things I've ordered from Google (Nexus 4 and the charging Orb), shipping has been crazy quick. They told me my N4 would take 7-10 days to arrive, it was at my doorstep the next day.

I received my $199 N4 8GB the other day and WOW what a phone. I luv the look of this phone. I'm going to use it on Straight Talk. I also purchased a Tri-Armor rubberized case because i've read some have said the glass can easily crack from a drop or fall.

I think the radio isn't the most power efficient so even a slightly poor connection will hammer the battery.

At my home it would drain crazy bad while my current gs4 drains at one fourth the rate.

And that puny battery still outlasts the 2100 mAh battery in my phone. Android fail
