So tempting. I've been going back and forth to the checkout window of a Google Edition S4 but haven't had the guts to click yet. Part of me wants to just see what Apple will unveil September 10th (Truthfully, I'm not holding my breath for anything great.)

But with the new pricing of the Nexus 4 16gb, it makes the S4 $425 more for me.

What mystery are you waiting for? We have seen IOS 7 and the hardware won't really make a difference as IOS already runs great

It's hard for me to comprehend that they'd just release a new phone with only updated specs. There must be something more like Siri was with the 4S. Regardless, being so close there is little reason not to just wait.

That and I'm holding out to see what the Note III will be all about on september 4th.

the fingerprint scanner would be that feature. I think most sites are saying that will happen.

I purchased the 8GB model today. I'm so unhappy with Boost Mobile service in my area that i'm going to switch to Straight Talk. Boost Mobile used to be pretty good in my area and now it's utterly bad.

Rumors pin the 5c between 400-500$ unlocked.

Very hard to see unsubsidized phones over $300 in the USA have success. Americans won't buy an unsubsidized iPhone for that price. Apple in catch 22 in USA. Carriers can offer the cheaper iPhone for $99 on contract but than that may erode profits from new 7th generation iPhone carriers will sell at $199 on contract.

. USA residents for the most part still think paying $199 for subsidized phone is too much.

I saw $555 in the general iPhone threads. Nobody really expected Apple to sell a new phone cheap did they?
The iPhone is so far behind I can't imagine why anybody would want the cheap(if you consider $555 cheap) version. To me it means it has less than the flagship version which again, is behind.

How is it a **** phone? It has served me so well. Better than my Galaxy S4 in many respects. Just as fast 90% of the time thanks to stock Android.

It's a stupidly good deal. These will sell fast, so if anyone wants one, they should probably buy soon.

Poor RF, poor battery life, washed out screen, questionable build quality. No LTE, no SD card slot.

That being said, $199 is great.

crap. just cracked my nexus 4's screen. it already had some hairline cracks or scratches from previous drops. i loved this phone for its cost vs components ratio, but word to the wise - its not durable at all. hell, my iphone 4 survived more drops than this phone. too bad it's not gsm.

this is my last all glass phone fer sure.

Haha some people said rumors pointed to the Moto X being $200 off contract. That wasn't even close.

Yes rumors can be wrong. Amazing right?

----------

So how many people are buying this phone as a back up, for a parent, just because?

I would if I had any indication the microphone or whatever it was has been fixed. The microphone was terrible. People on the other end always said I came across choppy. And it wasn't the carrier. Went through multiple nexus 4s before I finally gave up.

My point I was trying to make is that rumors must also come with a bit of logical thinking. Apparently I was the only one on here (on the Moto X forum) to believe and stick to the Moto X being a $200 flagship carrier device because it just made logical sense.

We can't just jump on rumors. We need to ask ourselves if they make sense.
